Odd question but just wanted to know if it is easier to buy a one day ticket and then sort the AP pass out once in the park or to buy the AP at the entrance and then sort it out once you get in the park?:confused3

I recommend buying a 1 day ticket at the entrance and then upgrading to an AP in the park. You have to go to the AP station in the park anyway (to have your photo taken). From my experience, the staff at the park entrance does not always have the best knowledge about Annual Passports and especially discounts.

Enjoy your stay at DLRP! :wizard:

We found it really easy to buy the AP at the entrance, we went to guest relations (which is to the right side of the entrance) paid for the Ap (got out sponsor disc) and they issue you with a temp 1 day pass and then we headed straight to AP to get our perm passes. Easy as that! :thumbsup2

We bought a one day ticket each cheaper from 365tickets.com, which only enabled us access to one of the parks, so we had to ensure that we visited the Disneyland Park using that. Then once we had our APs we were able to visit the Studios.

We were still given the full day price off, which was slightly more than what we actually paid for the ticket! :thumbsup2

Same here :)

Have a look at the sponsor thread here if you are interested in purchasing APs :)

I think it depends when you are going, we queued up at Guest Relations for nearly half an hour last week, when I lost my Dream AP! If you buy a day pass in advance then you can get straight in, we've never had to wait very long at the AP Office, even when it's been busy.

so if you buy a day pass so u can get in to get your AP do you get the price of your day ticket taken off the price of the AP?

Yes, as long as the ticket has a value printed on the back :)

Package tickets give you no reduction on the price of an AP.

i don't know why i've never got one before i've been out there the last 3 years. maybe i'll fit in a christmas trip as well!

does the AP give you discount in ALL the restaurants and shops or just certain ones?

10% discount in all the restaurants (table and counter service and 20% in all the shops. This is in the resort hotels, Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios.
No discount at the food or merchandise carts since they do not have scanners to take off the discount.

If you are taking advantage of the child free offer it's best to buy at guest relations as they won't refund what you spend on the childs one day pass.

AP discounts differ with the type of pass.

I get 10% off in shops and restaurants with a Fantasy pass - which is less than Reid's (Cyrano) 20% and 10%.

I'm not sure Francillien gets any discounts:confused3

dlrpmagic usually has a page which gives you the current %'s

i'm going to go for the Dream AP. with the amount of money i seem to spend when i'm there I think the discounts will do me some good!
