My friend Cindy and a fellow nurse. They work the delivery room at a large hospital in Katy. They FINALLY got to leave for home yesterday and were both able to get to their homes safely. They have been on duty since LAST THURSDAY. We often forget these "heros". Poor Cindy...she was home 5 hours and her AC broke ... repairman showed up first thing this morning and she slept soundly. A FOX news reporter stated yesterday he flew from the Houston area to Beaumont/Port Arthur area yesterday; for 60-70 miles all he could see was water with a few little islands here/there.

This is a small neighboring town on the Colorado River. We're SUPPOSE to play volleyball here tonight ...not gonna happen! River crested Tuesday but damage is still heavy...including the high school gym.

So much water! I wish we had some of it. It's been like 66 days now since it has rained and there is no rain in the forecast.

Wish we could have spread this rain out too; Montana is "burning" and needs rain too. Weather patterns are "above my pay grade" ...still having a hard time wrapping my head around the 23 inches we had much less the 52 inches in the Houston area.
