We're waiting on that too! This truck belonged to guys GIRLFRIEND. Might get "interesting"...either way...he'll be in jail for awhile! ... and OFF the streets!

The girlfriend's insurance company should still pay, the policy covers the vehicle not the driver. As long as she does have insurance.

Time to hit the road ...1 1/2 hour trip to Jr. High District Cross Country. Certainly not expecting the 1st place results from last year; Redstorm's ankle is REALLY bothering her AND...RECORD HEAT today with a 95 degree high expected! Summertime is back during the day yet nighttime temps drop to mid-high 60's. Volleyball coach didn't want her to run today (critical district volleyball games coming up) but she didn't want to let her CC team down...no matter what place she gets she'll still earn points for the team. She didn't even want us to come but we wouldn't hear of not going to support her and team. Family dinner afterwards which will make it a good day! Later....

Good luck to DGD. It's nice you could make the trip. Hope her ankle is ok. I would love for it to be 95. Saturday is supposed to be the coldest day so far lows in the 20's and highs in the 40's. Glad there is no meet this Saturday.

There's always some special place or meet and greet that I can go to because I have a Disney Visa card and I had $195 to spend at Disneyland that I got from using the card. And I get 10% off of purchases at the park over $50.

Thanks and I'd gladly send the 95 degrees to you! While 20's sounds a little "cool" , the 40's sound wonderful! The day actually went a LOT better than we thought it would. The meet was moved to Caldwell from Giddings at the last minute; not good for those in the Giddings/Smithville area though. Denise...you can understand this...WILDFIRE in Smithville (started yesterday afternoon, now up to 1,500 acres but 50% contained)...smoke in the air in Giddings so they moved the meet. This is 50+ miles away...we could see the smoke on the horizon on our way to Caldwell:

...always a "warm and fuzzy moment" for me watching the athletes join hands and say a prayer before competition:

...and they're off ... (adding to the ankle pain for Redstorm, which wasn't to bad today, was the knowledge that her SHOE HAD COME UNTIED at the beginning of the race! )...

...it's finally done ...Redstorm had a HARD time breathing...HOT and dusty...

...but...expecting a 9th-10th-11th place finish and coming in 6th (out of 38 runners) made her smile!

(Followed by total celebration in the car when she realized she'd just run her LAST CC race ; she'll be devoting her high school time to soccer and volleyball! I think my favorite part of the whole afternoon though was during the boys race. A young man from Giddings, who finished 2nd, went back out on the run to meet with a teammate who was running in last place. He ran to the finish line with him encouraging him along the way. I guess there IS "hope" for the younger generation!

I LOVE THE MARKETPLACE CO-OP...that Dole Whip wedding gift sounds perfect! I plan on purchasing a number of Christmas gifts there next month...will have to get them shipped home though...won't have enough luggage space to carry them myself. BUT...this is not from DTD...so not in Once Upon A Toy or Marketplace Co-op.
