Racing the clock on the tree lights...rain on the way and almost finished with the other magnolia tree ... work on this one while I attempt to beat Mother Nature....

I WON! :dance3: Got the lights up before the scheduled rain! 10,200 lights in 2 trees in 2 days! :woohoo: And...Diane...a little word of encouragement on your job search...it can happen :goodvibes! My BFF has been out of work since February; her husband passed away a couple years ago so she been living on her savings since then. She called me today...SHE GOT THE JOB she interviewed for a week ago! :yay: As a bonus, she'll be a "little bit closer" (by about 20 minutes) to us again and she'll be working in the city that has one of the BEST Mexican restaurants in the State! :rotfl: (We stop at this Los Cucos everytime we go to Port Aransas :goodvibes.) I am SO happy for her...and relieved :faint: ... so keep the faith! She must have applied for a hundred jobs and I know she's been on at least 25 interviews and it finally happened. It will for you too one day. :thumbsup2 :tink:

Wow that's a lot of lights. Don't forget to post pictures when everything is done.

I'm glad your friend found a job. Job hunting is so frustrating.:headache: I love being told I'm not qualified to do a job I've only been doing forever.:sad2: The best one was I went on an interview and later that day in the mail I got a letter that was dated and mailed the day BEFORE my interview saying I didn't get the job but thank you for interviewing it was a pleasure meeting you bla bla bla. >:(

Attraction, shop, or food service?

Goopy, my cousin changed her mind and is now getting married in Austin! In the hill country, whatever that means haha. So possibly sometime next August I'll be in your state!

:rotfl: That's the majority of them! :yay: And ends up I didn't have to "rush to beat Mother Nature" after all :faint:...rain now scheduled for THIS evening and looks like cooler temps next week. Weather Channel was even showing upper 40's! Not even close to "picture time" but this was my goal for before DW. The week we'll be gone is normally the week I do this so wanted to get a head start and be able to finish up the days after we return. One of our neighbors (the one with FOUR kids ) drove by and stopped...the little boy was SUPER excited with "Mrs. O can I HELP...PLEASE...let me help"! :hyper: He was a little disappointed when I told him it wasn't quite "that time of the year yet" and the lights wouldn't be on for a few weeks. We'll be putting about 3,000 more in the trees on the other side of our lot but that's "DH's job"...hoping he does that while we're gone so I don't have to "nag" him later. :rolleyes1 It's not the Osborne Lights:rotfl2: but looks nice for the neighborhood. :goodvibes

That "letter story" is UNBELIEVABLE! :faint: BEFORE you interviewed!!! :confused3 Her biggest problem was her age and lack of a college degree in the field she's working in now. She was to the point that she was seriously considering going back to school for "re-training" and back into nursing. She impressed enough this time to get to the "call the references" part of the process...thank goodness. Gave DH a chance to talk one on one with someone that understands the "workings" of an EDC Director. She has so many "contacts" and could sell "ice to an Eskimo" which are top priorities for an EDC but there's no place on an application to put that! :rotfl: I'm just so thankful she's moving closer to us again...I've missed her terribly and now I'll actually be able to "drive over and have lunch" when we need a visit! :dance3::tink:

:yay::yay::yay: Oh hell Annie...AUGUST in TEXAS??? It's going to be hot, hot, HOT! The Hill Country is BEAUTIFUL though with some lovely scenery....sure hope the weather is nice when y'all are here. You'll be flying into the same airport we leave from in 2 weeks! It's on the small side and I LOVE it compared to the Houston airports...VERY easy access both in & out. Will the wedding be at a resort or ranch...or on Lake Travis...??? (Ed's sister lives in the Austin area too!) Lots of questions but I'm so excited for you and your family. Hope our Texas hospitality (and lots of air conditioning :rotfl2:) makes your stay enjoyable! :thumbsup2 :tink:
