Where have I been??

I had no clue the rate of postage went up again!!!! WHAT THE HECK???

I just bought a roll of stamps at 37 cents each 100 stamps about a week and a half ago and nobody told me!!!

Will the mail I have sent out this week come back to me now? I am sure it has been on the news but having 2 young ones all that is ever on our tv is Disney Channel of course.

We don't get the paper either!! They should have sent something in the mail at least..UGHHHHH!!!

Is this new to anyone else?

Yup, it's news to me. Sad ~ dh knew but I didn't!

It was all over both the local and national news around here. You've just got to bump those kids off the tv at least once a day so you can check the local news and weather.

Or read the news online.

Or get a second one. We actually have a television at each end of our long family room. The kids watch DVDs at one end and we can watch the news or whatever at the other. If we both keep the volume relatively low, it works fine.

As for the mail you sent with insufficient postage, they'll probably ask the recipient to cough up the extra 2 cents. If they won't, the mail will be returned to you.

Yeah, I don't think there was enough of a head's up either. Especially at the post office. I was in there many times around Christmas and after and bought some stamps, but nobody ever mentioned that the price of stamps was going up, and I never saw a sign. You'd think everytime someone bought stamps they'd just say, "By the way, stamps will cost 39 cents in a few days so you may want to take that into consideration." All I ever heard was, "Would you like to buy some stamps?" So I had to buy a bunch of those 2 centers too.

Same here, I didn't know until the day it went up...after I had mailed all my bills!
What's worse is, my DH knew, and didn't tell me..."What??? You mean I knew something YOU don't???? Bwaaaahaaahaa!" Yeah, he's like that.

It's strange that you did not know about it. I knew about it around Christmas. My post office had it posted everywhere. Even when I bought stamps, they were 39 cents and not 37. Strange.
