where does your baby sleep when you visit Disney?

It will be my 6 week old, 3 year old, 6 year old, DH, and myself. Where did your baby sleep when you went to Disney or any other resort. Do I ask for a crib, bring my pac-n-play, but one of those portable crib type things, get one of those co-sleeper things where the baby is in bed with you? So many choices but what is right. :confused3

It just depends on your family. Neither of my kids liked the pack and play and refused to stay put in one.

if your dc doesn't mind a pack and play, I'd ask just to have one of those brought. You can also rent out a crib, if you more prefer. But really, disney's pack and plays are pretty standard issue. I am sure you could bring the infant insert from your pack and play, and put it in the disney one. That way you could put it against your bed, and it would be close to co-sleeping but within their own space. They are all about the same. :)

The last four times we've gone to WDW we have driven and brought our baby's playpen. If it is convenient for you to bring your own playpen or pack-n-play, I would highly recommend it.

For a six week old you would need to follow the same SIDS precautions that you choose to follow at home.

At 6 weeks...I wouldn't worry about the baby getting too 'used' to things - I would just be sure not to put him/her to sleep in a swing at home from birth to then - or it might be VERY LONG nights. If it was me, I'd just do the pack n play and be sure to have baby try out sleeping in his crib (or pack n play) at home before leaving. I would bring our own crib sheet - and just use that one (in case you want it washed in gentler detergent or other) and bring a receiving blanket to bundle in.

Thanks for the input all. I have some months to figure out what is best for my family. I was just wondering what others have done. Thanks again.

We took our 9 week old last fall and just did the same thing that we do at home. We stay in 2 BR villas when we travel to WDW- so we have a king size bed like at home. I just requested a bed rail and installed it on my side of the bed. The baby slept with me just like she does at home.

A pack-n-play is always an option if your child sleeps away from you at home. Or you can request a crib or rent one from an outside company if you prefer. I do have a co-sleeper insert that goes right in our bed- I know you can pick them up at Babies-R-Us. That might be a good option for you if you want to try co-sleeping just for this trip.

we requested a pack n play from our hotel for our 9 month old, it was her first time sleeping in one and she did fine.

If at time of trip my baby would've been that little she would have slept with me, because she slept with me until she was 9 mths old. But when we went she was 20 mths, already used to sleeping in a crib, so did just fine in a pack and play next to the bed that was already in myroom when I got there.

We had Disney bring in a pack -n- play for DS (10 weeks). He did pretty well in it. Of course, after so much excitement I think a block of wood would have worked :)

I brought an extra PnP sheet from home and used the same soft blanket he always sleeps on.

If you use a co-sleeping insert at home (like a snuggle nest), I'd bring it with you and put it in your bed there. If not - Id use the pack n play but I always brought my own sheets and put them over the disney sheets.

The time we went with our 6mo and 4yo to disney, we had a pack and play for the 6mo and My wife slept with our 4yo in one bed. We moved that bed to the wall so she wouldn't fall out, since her bed at home had the partial side mesh rail attached.

Thanks for all the input. I am thinking about getting the Eddie Bauer Infant Travel Bed. If I do, I will try it out at home first. Thanks again.

Since we flew, we used a pack n play provided by the hotel. Everything was fine, DS slept great, but the PNP was VERY dirty! I saw so thankful I had lysol wipes to clean it out. We also brought our own sheet for it.
