Starts near Splash Mountain.
Less crowded than on Main Street, but still spectacular viewing can be found near the Hall of Presidents, or deep into Frontierland, past the Country Bears.

In my touring plan, I'm going to be in the general area around 3 -- I was currently scheduled to go into the Country Bears at 2:55. Should I just hang out there and watch a bit of the parade, or will the parade still be in the area by the time we get out?
Wondering how quickly it moves -- I haven't seen a daytime parade in over a decade. And without a nighttime parade, I feel like I should watch at least part of one, even if I don't want to commando camp out (because my bf will likely not be interested in the parade).
First off... What is the date you are discussing?
FoF now starts at 2PM.
FoF moves back to a 3PM start in January.
The run-time of the parade is about 14 minutes.
In general, I would not go into Country Bears at a time that would mean missing any of the FoF parade.
Country Bears runs continuous shows all day, but the parade is one time per day and is one of Disney's best.
Should have clarified. I'm talking about March 6. I'll plan on lurking around CB for 15 minutes to see as much of the parade as I can convince my bf to stand there for. I've heard many people tell me it's fantastic, so I'm hoping to see it.
As always, thanks Robo.
Well, the last parade entry is a (real) fire-breathing Steam Punk style 20-foot tall mechanical dragon...
that even a "too cool for the room" guy would find impressive.

This is where we are wanting to watch in at the end of this month. We will probably be arriving around 1:30, so I hope it's not too full by then.Last November we got a great view of the parade at the bottom of the Main Street train station steps. Got there around 15 minutes early.
Be aware that FoF does not reach there until nearly a half-hour after it starts. This is where we are wanting to watch in at the end of this month. We will probably be arriving around 1:30, so I hope it's not too full by then.
That actually sounds perfect! After the parade, we plan to hop on the train and head to BTMRR for a FP that starts at 3:25.Be aware that FoF does not reach there until nearly a half-hour after it starts.

If BF needs to be convinced to watch parade he will exit park if you take him to country bears. Lol.
