Where do you vacation other than Disney?

We went o Vermont this summer, Smuggler's Notch resort... The kids camp was great and food in neighboring towns was awesome... Take a look at it. It helps that my in laws have time share there and it was free for us...

This year I had planned to visit Williamsburg, but I think that instead we're going to do a 'staycation' and remodel the kitchen.

We did Williamsburg in 2010 and loved it. We did Busch Gardens, the water park and Virginia beach one day as well. Great area for families.

Husband & I are wondering the same thing! We as a family have never been anywhere but Disney, we have been 6x and 2 of then have been this year. We are looking at celebrating dh 30th birthday ( we came to Disney for mine in February) , his is in march & wondering if we should try a new destination or stick with Disney!! We live Disney but we just visited 3 weeks ago, so won't have a big break in between going for his birthday in April. Hmm decisions. We really only know Disney it's our comfort , that's why I'm not sure what to do.

We usually spend a week on Hilton Head Island, SC each summer that our whole family enjoys immensely - plenty to do, but very relaxing also!!

We are also a ski family and that is a very enjoyable family activity! We usually do at least one 4/5 day weekend during the winter away as well as shorter weekends and days during the winter - so hoping for a good snow winter!

We do summer weekends at the Jersey shore and DE beaches.

We have also done a cruise that was very enjoyable and wish to someday do another one.

Also have done Rocky Mountain National Park for a week - just gorgeous.

There are so many places to explore - wish we could travel more but time and money just get in the way!! LOL!

I think Planning a cruise is just as much fun as planning a trip to WDW. There are so many cruise lines, ships, and destinations to chose from. There is a great community board for cruises like the Dis for Disney. It is called cruisecritic. I use this to plan all of our cruises and have always gotten great information. We try to do Disney or a cruise once a year and then take camping trips throughout the summer for long weekends. We love to find new places to explore and I have never felt unsafe on any cruise.

I wanted to do cost comparisons of Disney trips value versus other places.

Where do you go on vacation other than Disney?
Is there anything out there comparable to Disney?
Where else to go that has some of the perks that Disney offers?

We love Disney was just wondering what else is out there that we might be missing and wondering their value versus Disney.

We love to go to the Smoky Mountain National Park and camp within the park by a beautiful stream - so relaxing (complete opposite to our Disney trips LOL), we enjoy cooking outside, taking hikes, etc. Also love going to Acadia National Park in Maine (right on the Atlantic Ocean). It is so beautiful.

Also, these trip are *much* less expensive, and as much as we love Disney, they are lots more relaxing ;)

There is only *one* Disney and we don't like to go any other place that is *similar* because *nothing* can compare!!!

We usually go to each destination at least once a year. Our children loved both for different reasons.

We are full blown WDW enthusiasts and will continue to visit. However, there is a great big country out there and we like to enjoy that too.

There is no need to compare WDW to any other destinations ( aside from the cost), because it is a different type of trip all it's own.

We have taken our girls to several different beaches, several national parks, and most major cities in the US and had great trips each time.

There are many trips out there that are cheaper than WDW but they are not comparable to WDW. Still very enjoyable, educational and entertaining, but not comparable.
