It's out first trip to Disney (next weekend :yay:), and on the second day my daughter will turn 9.
(We're on DDP)

Where do you suggest we eat breakfast on her birthday? (We're on DDP) and because it's the second day of the hols I thought breakfast would be best as I guess we'll be up early.

I've made a reservation for Akershus, but am wondering whether this is the best choice. (There will be 4 of us, the youngest is 5)

Thanks

Rachel

My DS is 9 and, despite the fact that he is a little too old for the Winnie the Pooh characters, Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom remains one of his firm favourites for breakfast. That would be a good option for any younger ones too :thumbsup2

Tusker house in animal kingdom is really good

Love crystal palace for any meal but we are big eeyore and tigger fans

My ds is 15 on the second day of our holiday. We always go to an 8.05 Crystal Palace breakfast on our first morning. We are going to go for ds birthday, I think all ages enjoy it. One year we were there for our anniversary & ds 10th birthday, we had confetti on the table and ds was given a birthday card, signed by all the characters & a cupcake with candle. Been at the start of the holiday, you will probably be up early so it's a good opportunity to see a quiet (ish) MK.

Crystal Palace has become a regular first day breakfast for us. Super food and excellent character interaction and gets us into the Disney spirit immediately.

For a special breakfast (and would probably be perfect for your daughter too with character interaction) I would recommend 1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridian. We decided a couple of years ago to have Xmas morning breakfast there and it turned out to be a perfect start to a lovely special day at Disney.:yay:

We do this for our first morning on holiday and that is a breakfast at Cape May's at the Yacht and Beach club really good food and character intervention wih Mickey,Minnie,Donald and Goofy, who better to meet on your first trip.

The character breakfast at Ohana is really lovely. The Polynesian is a great resort and you can just hop on the monorail afterwards straight to the parks. I loved the fact that the food was brought to the table, no fighting over the buffet and you get to see Mickey, Pluto and Lilo and Stitch. I suppose it depends which characters your daughter prefers.

My DD is 9 too - and this is still her favourite!!
Crystal palace is a lovely setting and the choice of food is amazing!

Looovvve Eeore!!!:cheer2:

Always do breakfast here on our first day! :thumbsup2

We have done cystal palace and The princess story book at epcot. The princess one was our favourite. I prefered how they served the breakfast family.

My daughter is 10 now though and would not want to do a princess meal anymore though she would still do one with Mickey and co.:confused3

Princesses just are'nt cool when they reach a certain age! She has already refused character meets for next trip, hoping she will change her mind when we get there!

I've booked tusker house for breakfast as we are planning to be in AK that day.
Changed from the princesses breakfast, although girly she's not really "princessy"

We have made lunch reservations for Crystal Palace the day before (our first day).

Thank you, I think I've sorted out our reservations, but being a first-timer I have no clue about what it's going to be like, or how things work. I guess we could just sit by the pool all day if it all goes pear-shaped!!!!

If Chef Mickeys is on the dining plan, I would have it there (Contemporary Resort). A Chef Mickey experience is a party in itself where they pump up the music and really celebrate! She will definitely think that everyone is waving their napkins and celebrating especially for her. If you let the hostess know in advance, she'll definitely get the special treatment.

If Chef Mickeys is not on the dining plan, then I agree with the Crystal Palace suggestions previously given. Nothing like a birthday in the Magic Kingdom!

Have a great trip!

Mmm! you won't be disappointed with TH - we're already talking about going there this trip after everyone enjoyed their breakfast last time. Nice food and good character interaction :goodvibes The same goes for CP too! :)

For a first day we did CP on a day when it was NOT Emh. That way main street is empty and you can take some cracking shots with the park more or less empty. Still my DD9 favorite bfast . You will have a great time where ever:cool1:
