Thanks - was our first time going for an Interval exchange, and while booking it I learned something that might help other DIS DVC members who are interested in that part of the DVC program.

Apparently, early December is one of the best times to call requesting an exchange, because that's the time of year when the inventory of available resort space is at it's highest. Why?

It's the last point in the year for Interval members with unused time share space to offer it up for exchanges, so a large number of weeks get dumped into the system on 12/1. That's the actual day I called DVC, and I was amazed to find they had weeks already available in a two bedroom in my first choice resort durning our preferred travel time (I'd called expecting I would just be having them open up a search). When I mentioned that to the CM, she explained "the inventory for one of the more requested Marriotts during high season doesn't get any better than this, you called at just the right time."

One week in a BWV two bedroom: standard view 286 points, preferred 314 points

Our one week stay in a two bedroom at the Marriott resort in Williamsburg : 270 points
