I have heard this mentioned several times, but I don't know where you can do it on property or off. Can someone please share their experiences? And prices?

Thanks very much! :flower:

We did this in 2003 and it was AWESOME! I want to do it again! You have to make a reservation through Sammy Duvall's at the Contemporary resort. They take you on to Bay Lake, which is adjacent to the Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge. The view is simply breathtaking. You can see the Magic Kingdom, the resorts, Epcot and Animal Kingdom in the distance. Man, it is SO worth it!

I don't have the number to call, but if you call the Contemporary directly, I'll bet they will transfer you. Have a great time!!!

I really want to do this too . . . but I am a big wimp! :confused3
What is it like? Do you feel queasy at all? Is it safe?

No queasy feelings. Safe? Well, as safe as anything I suppose. Nothing is 100% safe. But, then again...neither is walking across the street.

They put a life perserver on you and strap you into this huge harness get up.

Get past your fears and go for it!

How much does it cost?
All Ears Net offers the following info.

Single Flight:
Regular: $90 per flight (8-10 minutes at 450 feet)
Premium: $ 112.50 per flight (10-12 minutes at 600 feet)

Tandem Flight:
Regular: $140 per flight (8-10 minutes at 450 feet)
Premium: $162.50 per flight (10-12 minutes at 600 feet)

From our experience, if you wish to have the boat all to yourself with your own party. The cost is about $600 for 2 people for about 45 minutes.

Wow! When we went in '03, it was me, DH and my best friend. We had the boat to ourselves and it was about $85.00 pp. Maybe they've changed their policies since then. :confused3

Unless you rent the entire boat, they do not guarantee that you will not be with others. If no one else signs up for the time that you are scheduled for, then you ride alone, but not guaranteed that way.

:cool1: Thank you!!! I was really wondering how much it was to have the boat to yourself! We are on the Premium plan and my older 2 kids & I are going parasailing (let's hope for good weather that day! Although it's early enough we could re-schedule! I'm going up with each one! EEK!). When I was scheduling it, the reservationist, asked if we wanted the boat to ourselves, I said sure. She did mention it's much more expensive to do it that way but "since you are on the Premium plan, you don't care" and never told me a price! :rotfl: So, I've been wondering what exactly the price for that *was* - I figured I would find out when we got there.

When we were on vacation a couple of weeks ago, we were on the old style plans that were called the "Dream Maker Platinum Plan".

I was AMAZED at how much all the "private" things costs, such as parasailing, jetskiing etc.

Even on the plans, you still have to "sign" for the things you do and unlike the food receipts, you actually see what the activities are costing.

Hmmmmm $112.....Add that to the $500 for the Richard Petty Nascar
Expierence, wow this is gonna be an expensive trip! :earseek: :rotfl:
