Where do you pack your toiletries

Yaaaa 3 weeks to go and I am starting to think about packing. Well I started thinking about it about 6 mths ago but now it is time to get serious.

This will be our first time flying as a family and was wondering where to pack my things like shampoo, conditioner, make up basic toiletries. Where do you all put it.

Thanks

I usually put that sort of stuff in a ziplock bag in my checked luggage. Sometimes I even use 2 ziplocks, just to make sure they don't leak. I figure it's ok in my checked luggage because even if the airline loses your luggage, hotels have that stuff anyways, and you can use that for a day or 2.

I don't pack shampoo, conditioner etc-either use what they provide in the resort or go to Walgreen and buy some.

Stuff like sun tan lotion etc.-I too ziploc and put in checked luggage. My personal makeup I put in Ziplocs in my carryon.

On the way down I usually put the most crucial things in my carryon; I find it handy to have toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, hairbrush, etc. in case of long delays at airports.

Coming back I may put them in the checked baggage, as
long as what's there can be easily replaced with stuff I have at home. Actually, I tend to try to bring just enough for the trip, so that I can throw away the containers before I head home. No matter where it is packed, I always carry any toiletries double-bagged in waterproof bags (cabin pressure can cause containers to burst.)

Important medications should be kept near your person at all times whilst travelling. If there is a flight cancellation or delay, you are likely to find it very difficult, if not impossible, to collect your checked luggage in a timely manner so as to get to it.

Note that while most adults will have no problem using hotel-provided toiletries, it may not be advisable for young children to do so. If your kids are used to no-tears soap/shampoo; make it a point to bring some. We forgot once when DS was 3, and were treated to hours of screaming after he smeared soap directly into his eyes.

I agree with NotUrsula,

On the way down keep the stuff with ya just in case a checked bag doesn't make it. On the way back put it all in the checked bag EXCEPT the meds which come in awfully handy if a child develops a fever, earache, tummyache, etc. on the plain. But no matter what . . . ziplocs are our friends!!!

I have an organization bag with different compartments for everything. It has a long strap I could carry alone but I pack it in my carry on. As it has my meds, bathroom tolities, first aid supplies ect. ect. ect. So I don't want to take a chance on it getting lost. This thing holds so much stuff I can't even list it all but it is very compact and hangs on the back of the door in the hotel bathroom. I love this organizer! Everyone who see's this thing always ask me "where did you get this"? As they want one too. I just leave it packed with all my stuff so I don't have to re-pack it when it is time for another trip.

I have a freedom bag from QVC. Most of the stuff I just leave in there for next time. I either carry it on by itself or put it inside another carryon bag.

I too have a Freedom bag!:teeth: Purchased from QVC! It was the best present my Mother ever gave me for my Birthday.

I keep it packed all the time! Just pull it out and go! LOVE IT!!!::yes::

I have the XL Freedom Bag. I orginally bought one and out grew it and had to go and buy the bigger one. As stated mine always stays packed. They sell similiar ones at Target. I bought my friend one last year and she loves hers too.
