Perhaps some of the veterans out there can answer this for me. When you are on Castaway Cay going snorkeling etc. where do you keep your keys, etc. Are there lockers anywhere?

There are no lockers. We just left our stuff on a lounger while we snorkeled. No need for anything than a few dollars if you want to send a postcard, otherwise you can charge everything to your KTTW card.

No keys.... but we had our camera and sunglasses etc. We talked with the people next to us and the said they would” watch are stuff’ we kept an eye on it from the water. If you feel like it is not wroth watching. Just bring a disposable camera and keep your key to the world card wrap in a towel. I hope this helps. I don’t think there is to many "robbers on the island..

We have been to CC 12 times and never had a problem.....not to say that it can't happen, but were lucky and our stuff was never touched. I keep it all in a zipped tote bag under a towel on the lounger.

We keep on eye on our spot from the water.

For the stuff I was concerned about - like my kttw card, I bought one of those waterproof plastic containers that snap shut, and that you can take with you snorkeling. The other stuff, I decided to just hide in my shoes, covered up with my t-shirt.

The biggest problem that I have had on CC was returning to my hammock, (which I got up very early to get), and finding it occupied. I even WOVE my strap from my fanny pack through the webbing, and found it removed and lying in the sand. I had saved this spot for my whole family by getting there early, and returned to find it taken over! I really don't mind sharing the hammock while I'm gone - but no one asks, they just move on in.

On one trip, I went to lunch and found my DCL rented snorkeling gear gone! I agree you do not have to worry too much about thieves, just some rude and boorish people. I really don't know where they come from, it seems we never run into them on the ship (I take that back, I do run into them at the pools sometime). But on CC, they seem to come out of the woodwork!

There is also something callled a splash caddy. It is a fanny pack that has water proof liners that keep all items enclosed safe. You couldn't put a normal sized camera in there, but you could fit a smaller sized (think the cannon elf type cameras.)

We used ours at CC, but also loved having it for excursions as well. It went diving with us in St Thomas, and snorkling in Costa Maya.

We did leave a beach bag with sunscreen, etc and a big camera (carefully wrapped and hidden in towels) on our lounge chair at the adult beach at CC, but never ever think because you are on a Disney criuse, some moron won't steal your stuff.

Here's a link to the splash caddy at Magellans...

Some men's bathing suits (e.g. Lands End) have rear pockets with velcro. You can keep your KTTW card and photo ID there.
