In our bedroom. The washer and dryer are also in the 2nd floor so no lugging clothes up and down steps. In our previous home the laundry was in the basement.
In my closet. When it's full, I do laundry. We used to have a hamper, but had to keep it in the closet (behind a door) anyway because our dog would try to pull underwear out of the ventilation holes, so we decided to cut out the middle man and just use the basket.
I’m with Meriweather - hampers in closets - baskets in laundry room - except I’m constantly having to snatch them back from peeps using them for other uses and not returning them
In front of the dryer. As pulling things out, things like shirts, pants, and dresses get laid on the laundry table, but socks, undies, and the like get to just fall in because wrinkling doesn’t matter.
hamper-laundry room closet. basket(s) when empty on top of washer or dryer/full sitting on a hassock in my walk in closet waiting to be put away (and in the mean time staying out of the reach of cats who believe it's their duty to curl up on it and fuzzify everything).
Don't have a laundry basket. I'm by myself and the washer and dryer are in the bathroom. I change or get undressed in the bathroom and toss the clothes in the washer. I fold as I pull out of the dryer so no need for a basket of any kind.
Ok, I don't really have any clothes other than work clothes. So in reality, clothes come out of the dryer and go on me. They don't normally get folded and put away.
