This will be our first time cruising and i have a silly question. Where do you keep your room key and id while you are at Castaway Cay? I am a little leary about swimming (doing excursions, etc...) with such important cards. Is there locker in Nassau and Cataway Cay? What do you do with the card while swimming on the ship. If you leave it sitting around somebody might take it. For some reason I am really worried about this. Mostly because I have a tendency to loose things. I am afraid I will loose my ID at CC and can not get back into the US. Please Help!

For both the pool & CC I keep it in a zippered bag that is attached to the inside of our beach bag. Never had a problem with it.

Before our cruise, I ordered my DH an additional pair of swim trunks. JCPenney, St Johns Bay, they were like 6 bucks on clearance. Anyway...they came with a waterproof wallet, see thru (clear), that had two zip lock zippers for waterproofing and it attached to an inside pocket. It was very handy. Held both of our key cards.

We have always used waterproof fanny packs from www.magellans.com
They are called Splash Caddy, and the sealed bags that are inside of them are Coast Guard rated. As long as I make sure I seal them correctly, they never leak. I carry money, passports, room keys, credit cards.....everything.

On the ship, at Castaway, and also at water parks, we purchased a waterproof plastic case that holds room keys (drivers licences, credit cards, etc.). We hang them around our neck and you can make sure they don't fall off. We actually use them even when we are in the parks to keep our fast passes and park tickets.

Pam

We do the same thing as Pam. When I'm swimming though, I safety pin it to the top of my suit because one year when I took of my vest after snorkeling, it fell off and I didn't know it.

Thanks for the info, I will have to start looking around for these waterproof wallets/pouches. I am starting to feel so much better about this! :cool1:

We have never had a problem with just leaving it in our beach bag on the shore or on the pool deck.

I have a pair of the swim shorts that have the "waterproof" wallet. It has a bungy-cord type strap that loops thru the wallet and a pocket w/velcro to keep it attached. It is not really waterproof at all, but for keeping drivers license/KTTW card/Credit cards it works really well. Money/paper tends to be a little soggy. It came with the shorts, so i may look to replace it with one of the water-wallets.

We have also just left it in our camera bag like Tracy has done & had no problems.

I use the waterproof wallet also. Been to CC 5 times and always left cameras, money, towels, glasses etc. right on the beach chairs and NEVER had a problem. The only thing that tends to "grow legs" and walk away are the blue "floaties".

We haven't done a Disney cruise yet, but I know on another cruise our card did not have our room number on it, so if it was lost or someone took it, they wouldn't know what room was ours.

that is True they do not print the room number on the key just your name..
Purchases need to have a room number with them also..
as well as signature match..

We just leave it in a shoe or bag and have never had a problem..

Does Disney sell the water wallets onboard that have the DCL Logo? Does anyone know if you can order them in advance, they would be great for a gift basket? Thank You

last year i found some small water wallets with a small mickey icon on them for sale on ebay...i ordered 3-4 of them and paid a total of $5...maybe the company still sells them... :cheer2:

We also used the waterproof "necklaces" from the gift shop on board. They go around your neck and have a case that is completely waterproof (rubber sealed) so you just leave it on all the time when swimming, etc.. they had two sizes - i got the largest - about the size of 2 card decks stacked on top of each other. I put all of our KTTW cards in it, cash and my watch when swimming. It worked out great. Our friend that had some kind of waterproof wallet thingy was unhappy with it - everything in it got soaked.

We kept all ID onboard and just took our keys. We weren't worried about any type of theft.

DCL says that adults need their KTTW card (room key) AND photo ID to get back aboard, even at Castaway Cay. This past week ship's crew was checking KTTW cards and photo IDs when we reboarded at Nassau and Castaway Cay.

Getting your KTTW card and most types of photo ID wet, even with sea water, won't damage them in any way. I kept my KTTW card and driver's license in a pocket of my swim suit that closed with velcro, and the KTTW card continued to read accurately when swiped and still opened the stateroom door, even after long duration exposure to pool and sea water. I wouldn't worry about a waterproof container for your KTTW card or photo ID. If you will be swimming at Nassau and carrying cash, that's a different matter. And at Castaway Cay, you can't even use cash, except at the post office, which is right next to the pier. Take care of all your post office cash-related transactions before heading to the beach, and the only thing you'll have to worry about keeping dry is your beach reading material.

:wave2: Hi

Does anyone know if Walmart sells water wallets? If so, in what department? I don't remember ever seeing them.......... TIA! :teeth:
