Where do YOU go for your favorite beach vacation? And what state are you from?

Amelia Island, Florida if I'm staying any length of time ( we usually rent a condo there) about 45 mins away.

Ponte Vedra Beach for day to day (we belong to a beach club there, and drive back and forth from home...about 30 - 45 mins, depending on traffic)

We enjoy boogie boarding, so prefer the Atlantic side.

Another Maryland gal here... we grew up going to OC, Md when I was young... it's ok just so crowded and congested. Now we have been going to Bethany Beach, DE and really like it, very quite and peaceful. We do take trips into Rehoboth and OC, while in Bethany though for shopping.

We also really like Myrtle Beach, we went once and have been wanting to go back ever since.

I'm from Virginia and my absolute favorite beach is Myrtle. We like to stay in North Myrtle, it is less crowded.

Va Beach is just o.k. to me, the hotels seem so expensive during the summer and I just don't like it as well as MB! It isn't much further for us to go to Mrytle than to go to VA Beach. Now that they closed the Duck Inn, I don't know how often we will go there. We generally time a trip there w/ something else.

I think the beach is my 2nd favorite vacation place, behind Disney of course! :sunny:

I live in NH, less than an hour from the beach, and we rarely go. That being said, I went to the beach in Ogunquit ME this summer, and I really liked it. Nice and long, and so much prettier than the NH beaches. For NH beaches (the only other beaches I've ever really been to), I like the state beaches over Hampton. Hampton Beach is too much of a tourist trap.

Massachusetts native.

Favorite beachs: Meads Bay, Anguilla........White Bay, Jost Van **** BVI

I have to concur with several posters - any beach in Maui.

Otherwise - Juan-Les-Pins near Cannes. Or most of the beaches in that area.

I grew up in KC and we always headed west for family vacations. I now live in FL, but my all time fav beach is Santa Cruz, CA.

It's great to see so many people on here like the same beach as I do...Rehobeth De.
We own a condo on the boardwalk at the north end and spend lots of time there.
They expanded the beach during the off season and it looks great. No more steps down the the beach. The beach slopes right up to the boardwalk.
Our family favorite is to sit outside at Obies and watch the people go by.
Very family friendly with not a lot of bars attracting the younger crowd. If you want that a short bus trip on the Jolly Trolley to Dewey beach will solve all your bar hopping needs.

I love visiting different beaches on vacation. I can't think of a favorite beach because each one has something different to offer - surfing, snorkeling, diving, laying in the sun, playing in the waves. I do love the beaches in Hawaii.

I live in Southern California just minutes from the beach.

I am outside of Philadelphia so my favorite beach as far as a car ride is Ocean City NJ.

My all time favorite beach is Riveria Maya area of Mexico, specifically the Palladium Grand Resort. Going back for the 3rd time in April.

With that said, I do not go on the beach in NJ - I love the shore town atmosphere but am spoiled by the beaches in Mexico and Florida that I have been too. I can't handle the water in the Atlantic vs the Gulf of Mexico and the Carribean Sea.

I don't vacation at the beach. If I could go to Mauii I would, maybe one day. We live in Myrtle Beach and it is a 2 minute walk to the beach from my front door. I think I went twice this year. It really is overcrowded. I would love to move away from this town, I just don't like it at all!

Live in Ohio and our favorite beach is the Chincoteague Va end of Assateague Island.

Another Marylander. Grew up in Baltimore but now livein the very northeastern corner.

For a day trip, we like the state park beach at Cape Henlopen just north of Rehobeth then we go into Rehobeth for the boardwalk. They have the best little amusement park that we took the kids when they were younger. And of course, Grotto Pizza.

For a weeks vacation we go to Southern Shores on the outer banks of NC, just south of Duck.

We live in the cornfields of SE MN. No oceans around here.

Beaches of Eastern Al and Panhancle of Fl are awesome.

Gulf Shores, Al, Perdido Key, Fl, Pensacola Beach, Fl, Destin, Fl, and the numerous beaches of So. Walton County, Fl.

herc.

We're in Pittsburgh, PA and our favorite hands down is Cape May, NJ.

I'm from North Carolina and have been going to Myrtle Beach since I was a baby. It has changed a lot over the years, though. I would like to try another beach sometime. Maybe the Outer Banks or Florida. I also like Folly Beach, SC.

I live in Oklahoma.

We love going to Myrtle Beach. I love to golf, and Mytle Beach is a golf mecca. My kids love the beach there and there are so many other things to see and do.

If we don't vacation at Disney, it's a sure bet we are going to Myrtle Beach.

I live in Michigan and one of my favorite beaches is North Beach at South Haven, MI. :)

I live in Minnesota and our favorite beach is at a resort where we spend two weeks every summer. It is in northern MN and on a huge lake.
