I was just wondering where people got their best airfares from. Was it directly from a travel company, a web-company, etc, and how much homework did you do to get those fares?

I am travelling from the Edmonton, and am hoping to see better airfares by the time we go next year, but am still wondering where everyone got theirs.

Hi, I check with the internet. I go to Travelocity or ecpedia, then I check the actual airline I am interested in. I fly out of Buffalo, so it is always easier to check on US airlines. Then when I find a good deal, I either book on the net, or call my travel agent and have her book it. I find by doing a little research, you can get better deals then is quoted by a TA. Hope this helps.

I went to WDW in 1999 and 2000 and did lots of research for both trips. Unfortunately, for western Canada, there's no such thing as a "great deal".
I checked:
tripeze.ca
travelprice.ca
expedia.ca
sunholidays.ca
signaturevacations.com
sunquest.ca
airtransat.ca
canada3000tickets.com
cheaptickets.com

I was getting "deals" of $800-900 CDN!!
The best I found was a travel discounter called Discount Travel Warehouse here in Calgary.

1999 $615 incl tax
2000 $627 incl tax (if I had booked one day sooner I could have gotten it for $602)

I wish we could get some better deals, we would go more often

We redeemed aeroplan points for 5 tickets for our trip this past December from Edmonton. The only drawback was that we had to fly in and out of Miami, nothing was available to from Toronto to Orlando or Tampa.

With the extra 3.5 hour drive, this can make for two very long days on your trip.

We went thru a travel agent (but I wasn't happy with them) they booked our airfare thru World of Vacation, it was the cheapest. They booked thru Air Transat.
