Where do you eat if you stay at YC/BC?

When staying at the values and mods, most of them have food courts which have always worked in our favor (especially at CBR, they have a pretty good food court if you ask me) but YC and BC doesn't have anything like this right? What if I want some mickey waffles for breakfast? Or nuggets for lunch? tea at night? What are the options there?
I hope this is in the right section, as I am really trying to get info on the resort's food functionality lol.

Hurricane Hannas, the Marketplace, and sometimes we will walk over to Epcot to grab a meal. You also have all the places at the BW, plus there are supposed to be some good quick choices at the S/D (although I haven't tried them myself).

We almost always stay at beach club villas. Ditto what people said on Epcot and beaches and cream.

We love walking to swan and dolphin for food - kimonos and shula's are excellent.

The lack of CS options at the resort is a real issue when staying at YC/BC for folks who like a quick bite in the morning/evening. When we stayed at YC my DH would walk over to the marketplace for a breakfast sandwich in the morning and bring back a pastry for me. Our girls just ate pop tarts and cereal we bought from garden grocer. We found it very frustrating because the options we so limited for myself as I have a problem eating foods with egg yolks and DD has an egg allergy as well as peanut, tree nut and bananas. The marketplace and Beaches n Cream could not accomodate us and Hurricane Hannahs was a very limited menu with limited hours. We ended up eating a couple meals over at Picabu in the Dolphin and found a great variety of safe dishes at CS prices :goodvibes

If our family were to stay in the Epcot area again, we would choose the Swan/Dolphin hands down. Better food options, cheaper room prices, same bus service to parks, and very nice pools. (also did not care for SAB....crazy....I know :upsidedow)

This is how we feel as well. We loved our stay at the BC as the resort is beautiful and it's great being within walking distance to 2 parks, but the limited CS options is what keeps us from staying at another Epcot resort. The Marketplace has quick grab-n-go items and has recently added an egg platter to the breakfast menu, but aside from that, there are not too many other hot breakfast choices. I have always felt that the Epcot resorts were lacking in CS options as the variety is nothing like that of the other deluxe resorts. I thought with the addition of the Marketplace it would be similar to that of the other deluxe resorts, but the options are much more limited, IMO.

We would grab a pastry from the Marketplace for breakfast....or better yet, eat a dessert we brought home the previous day. There's nothing like a giant red velvet cupcake for breakfast! :) Do we eat this way at home? Absolutely not! Do we eat this way on vacation? Sure, why not! I find nothing wrong with having a Mickey bar to tide me over mid-afternoon after having a large breakfast.

Our family found plenty of food to eat QS at BC between HH and the Marketplace.

Oops -- I can't believe I forgot about Beaches and Cream. My family shared the No Way Jose sundae there last trip (as our dinner :rotfl:). Wonderful place, but it gets crowded at times and you can't get in.

I will never understand why Disney doesn't expand B&C. The place is always packed and clearly the demand is there.

Yes, I was very excited about the possibility of staying at YC/BC bc of SAB and being able to walk to Epcot. But like your DD, my daughter has a peanut/tree nut allergy. And while I do fine with a cheese danish in the morning, she enjoyed the mickey waffles that they made just for her @ CBR (and I have to say I kinda love them too with some strawberry syrup!) and honestly besides that and cereal there isn't too much she can eat, as she hates eggs. We were only planning on doing 1 sit down breakfast so this is kind of disappointing for us.

Do any deluxes have a food court type of option?

thats what we love about the beach / yacht club.

you have 5 resorts, and 2 theme parks to choose from for your meals.

the counter service for rose and crown is a 5 min walk away for soime fish and chips.

tons of food at the boardwalk as well

i think not having to go to a "food court" is a major plus

I think I also read that France in Epcotnow opens the bakery for morning pastries at the same time as they open Future World!!!!

We live YC BC, and usually grab something in the Narketplace, or have Garden Grocer deliver breakfast type options for our room

As the PP said, we let loose on our eating rules while on vacation.......cupcake for breakfast? Why Sure!!!!!

I agree. Staying in Yacht Club and going to the Marketplace in Beach Club is a looong walk (although it is all inside at least). We brought along granola bars and pop-tarts so we'd have something fast in the morning (we are rope drop people). With all the walking we do at WDW, I don't need to add the trek to the Marketplace or to another resort to get some quick breakfast. YC/BC could do better with this. Also, Hurricane Hannah's, I think that is the poolside restaurant and I don't believe they are open for breakfast. I would be surprised if Beaches & Cream were too, although someone else would know better than I.

We found this when we stayed at BWV. The lack of CS was a concern for us. We are planning a stay at BCV for June.

We have made ADRs at Cape May for Breakfast and Dinner along with Yachtsman Steakhouse. We also know that if we want CS it is a short walk to Epcot and there is Hurricane Hannas, yes the area does have limited options but you can plan around this.

We also know that we can eat without ADRs at Beaches & Cream, ESPN Club, and Big River Grille.

You can more than likely depending on the time of year get a walkup reservations for Captains Grille or Kouzzina for breakfast.

The Boardwalk Bakery is also under construction for a possible expansion. I am assuming There may be more offerings here when they reopen and a refillable mug drink station.

We love the area, we hope you fall in love with it as much as we have!

Wanted to add: BeachClub Marketplace has a to die for seven layer bar! If you like that kind of thing :)

:goodvibes

I agree. I always recommend to anyone staying within the Epcot resort area to seriously consider adding park hopper option to your park tickets. It provides you lots of dining option beside all of the resorts and Boardwalk. You can also see Illuminations or Fantasmic on a whim.

I think there are plenty of food choices at the YC/BC area.

I am very OK with the fact there is no food court. After my first (and last) stay at Pop, the food courts are way too hustle and bustle, loud and overwhelming for my taste.

BC Marketplace had more than enough food choices for early morning (IMO), and YC has the Ale and Compass Lounge, both have small eating areas that even in my many peak season visits have had seating. I find there are lots of food choices. Boardwalk Bakery and now the Patisserie in Epcot are short walks away. When I stayed at Pop, our room was a 10 minute walk to the food court. At BC/YC, if the very close options weren't enough, that same distance walk can get you to other resorts or to Epcot. So for me, I don't see a difference in the theory that there is a long walk to a nearby CS (ie: Boardwalk Bakery) or a food court.

Captains Grille and Cape May offer Breakfast AND dinner TS (when you have your mickey waffle fix). Yachtsman is just dinner TS.

Hurricane Hannahs and Beaches and Cream are great lunch choices.

Martha's Vineyard (BC) and Crews Cup Lounge (YC) have drinking choices (Crews also has a menu as well).

What's really great about BC/YC is that it's walking distance to Swan/Dolphin, the Boardwalk, and Epcot. Any of the other resorts WITH food courts don't have options other than what's at that specific resort without having to take transportation to get there.

So, there are MANY options at YC/BC! My favorite resorts (in case you couldn't tell from my completely biased post..) :flower3:

Breakfast - BC Marketplace of Boardwalk Bakery. Captain's Grill is a great choice for a ts and of course there is Cape May Buffet if you want to do a character meal.

We love Hurricane Hannah's, Beaches and Cream and BC Marketplace for lunch.

Our favorite thing though is hopping over to EPCOT for dinner. That's one of my favorite things about staying at BC/YC.

While the deluxes do not have the food court like that of the mods and values, they do all have nice CS that serve cooked to order breakfast lunch and dinner....with the exception of course being BC, YC, BW. In order to get the allergy safe Mickey Waffles at YC/BC, you will need to order room service or eat at their TS for bfst. I did a quick look and all of the other deluxes CS carry mickey waffles except for maybe WL but they may have them and it just wasn't on the allears menu.

I feel for you because I know how tough food allergies are and honestly, we felt let down with the choices at YC/BC. Granted my DD has more allergies, but the lack of CS for bfst/dinner is an issue for everyone. That is why we went to Picabu a few times to at least get some cooked allergy safe meals that were CS and not in a theme park.

Our favorite resort is Poly and as a family we have now decided that we will not stay outside the MK area again. We love the convenience of location on the monorail with easy access to MK and Epcot which are our most visited parks. The food options there work for our family and we find so many wonderful choices for both CS and TS within walking distance of our room that are allergy safe. We love the theming and pools and the nighttime entertainment of the EWP and Wishes from the beach. When the fireworks are over, we walk back to our room and slip off into dreamland :cloud9: I know many love the BC/YC/BW area and that is great :thumbsup2 We just find it is not a good fit for our family's needs.
