Where do you eat dinner at WDW to celebrate after a race?

I'm running the Disney Princess half with 3 maybe 4 friends. It will be a girls weekend, and I'm super excited as it will be my first half marathon which I have wanted to train for forever.

Where do you eat at the world after a race to celebrate? I was thinking Cali Grill, but I don't know if that will be too pricey for a couple of the girls in the group. Any other thoughts? I asked over on the restaurants board, but thought I would see what people here do too.

Somewhere fun would be great. I'm not sure what park we will be in that day but want to start getting some ideas.

We always head for Japan. Love to climb and even better come down the stairs. It has become a right of passage. Note that if you really feel like you cannot make it down the stairs there is an elevator.

Artist Point, or Kona Cafe. Not that Artist Point is a lot less expensive than Cali, but we like the quieter atmosphere.

I've done Boma on Saturday night after the 2 halves I've done. I'm not sure yet about this January but am still planning to do Boma, only this time on Sunday.

I'm doing boma breakfast this year, and just gonna see how dinner works out. I did cali grill + fireworks last year (and whispering canyon for a lunch type thing following lots and lots of unhealthy food at the food tent and riverside mill).

This year after Goofy, we went to the Irish pub followed by a quick stop at the tequila bar at Downtown Disney. We saved the real celebration for dinner at V&A on Monday night.

I did Rainforest Cafe after my first marathon for the volcano dessert (plus the kiddo really loved it). This time I am planning on Biergarten. Mmmmm, beer.

I am glad you started this thread! My girlfriends and I are also running the Princess Half and it will be a 1st for all of us! We are also looking for somewhere to celebrate our accomplishment! I was originally thinking Teppan Edo in Japan but isn't sure what the rest of the girls would want!

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions! :)

How fun! Are you thinking dinner or lunch? If it's lunch, give yourself some time. Disney races are kind of challenging when it comes to eating. I find I'll be a little queasy after the longer races (certainly not sick, but not able to face much more than a bagel). I think it's less about the race distance and more about having been up since 3 a.m! After a shower and a couple of hours, I'll feel fine and will be able to eat just about anything (everything)...

I would lean towards eating in the parks but only because you'd have more opportunities to show off your medals!
