Question? We plan to attend a Sunday MNSSHP in October but will just use the "day" to sleep in, hang out at the resort and swim, my parents might use the time to resort hop and sight see. We plan to to get to MK at 4:00 when they start letting party-goers in the gates. I do not want to waste my party time eating, so I would like to eat a bigger meal for lunch/late lunch and grab a hot dog or something if anyone gets hungry during the party.

So, so what do you do or what have you done and found successful?

I've thought about going to over to DTD and eating at Earl around 2:00ish. Thought about doing a late TS lunch at a resort; perhaps Kona.

Ideas :confused3

We ate at Kona Cafe last year, then hopped the monorail to MK. Kona was great! The food was yummy and the portions huge. Be sure and allow plenty of time for your meal, though - the service was a bit slow. If you get done early, just check out the gift shops and walk around, the Poly is a gorgeous resort.

Last year we ate at Pecos Bill's before the party. I had their chicken wrap, which is huuuuuge and kept me full all night. Left us plenty of time to do pre-party rides.

Our last trip we had dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe before heading the the Magic Kingdom for Mnsshp. But if you want to ride the monorail forwarned that getting around that way on a party night can be crazy! It seems everyone uses it that day, and we have never been so packed on!

Last year we ate at Tony's Town Square. The place was empty when we arrived and was around 75% full when we left. It was nice to have a sit down meal before the party-kept me out of the candy

We had a 4:55 ADR at Crystal Palace. If you plan on dinner at a sit-down in the MK make your ADR sooner rather than later once your 180 day window opens. In retrospect, I probably would have made the reservation a little earlier. The restaurant was very crowded and we weren't seated until about 30 minutes after our ADR time. That being said, we were still done in lots of time to catch a few rides and a pic with Cindy's carriage before the party officially started (they opened the line early for the carriage that night).

Hi smmerlvr, think a 2:30 late lunch ressie might work (were talkin' mid October here). We would arrive & check in around 2:00 probably, so maybe we would be seated a little early? Thoughts?

You can get in MK for the MNSSHP at 4:00 p.m. with your party ticket, so if you are having a late lunch early dinner, you should be able to get in MK when you finish.

Right. I knew that from our last trip, hence doing a late lunch. I don't wanna waste time eating when I can be in MK 3 hours early :)

I'm having a brain fart, and can't remember where we wound up eating. I know we ate in the park, and it was a CS meal because we wanted to keep it short. I think that the first place we went to was either closed, or in the process of closing, and we wound up going somewhere else. I'm kind of thinking that our first choice had been Columbia Harbor House, and they were already closed, so we wound up at Peco's Bill, but I'm not 100% certain.

I plan on doing BBB for DD and then dinner at CRT. That's the PLAN. LOL

Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern was perfect!! We actually did a late lunch (reservations for 2:30) and just snacked through dinner.

When we went in September, we spent the day HS and had a 3:00 ADR at 50's Prime Time. After dinner we headed to MK. We snacked through MNSSHP. It was fun

that's the thing, we are NOT doing a park the day of the MNSSHP that we plan to attend. we use that day to hang out and relax, maybe catch a nap by the pool before we head to the party, so I want/need to eat OUTSIDE of a park.

I'm really leaning toward a late lunch at Kona.....

We did dinner there last year, walked out and plunked ourselves down for the parade! When the Headless Horseman came around the corner we got pictures that look like he's coming straight at us!!

We have eaten at Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD before and that worked because we were at either OKW or SSR and could easily get back to our resort and have the kids put on their costumes and then head to MK. But that to me is the best place in all of DTD to eat. RFC is another fun place to eat on a non park day. But I do find sometimes getting over to DTD can be a pain sort of like the parks and so maybe eating early in the MK or one of the monorail resorts would be better if you are really tring to keep it simple before the party.

Several times we have eaten a very early dinner at Tony's. I think their first seating is at 4:00 or 4:30, we have done that for both the Halloween and Chrismtas parties and been done way before the party started. I like coming into MK before the party crush, getting my wristband and map, having dinner and being done with all of that by 5:30 or 6:00.

I applaud your idea to not spend your party time eating. I never understand why with what those tickets cost anyone would have an ADR that hampers their ability to do and enjoy what they paid for!

I also like the late lunch at Kona or GF Cafe. Both of those have been great for us. I just recommend you be walking through the turnstiles of MK by no later than 6:00. The lines as you get close to 7:00 and beyond get insane to get in.

on our last trip, we went to a friday MNSSHP. we did the morning at HS and then back to the room to rest. we went into MK early and ate a very early dinner at Crystal Palace. loved it!

We traditionally get into MK at 4pm and head right to Cosmic Rays. We have tried eating at monorail resorts but felt out of place while in costume.
