Where do you dream of vacationing?

Nowhere really extravagent for me, if not Disney, then the beaches of Maine. This is one of the most peaceful places I have ever been. I love the smell of the ocean, the smell of the seafood coolomg, even love the people there. Hubby and I try to go for a week every summer and if we have long weekends, this is our favorite place for a quick getaway.
Disney is always number one, but Maine comes in at a very close second.

Paris
London
Copenhagen
Oslo
Helsinki
Stockholm
St. Petersburg, Russia
Tallinn, Estonia

This would be something along the same lines as me...

I'd love to visit London & Paris, and then go on a tour of Normandy. Cathedrals, castles & chateaus. I've wanted to visit Mont St. Michel (near Rennes) for a long time. I hear the surrounding area has become a tourist trap, but hey, it's a French tourist trap! (This is the realistic 'dream' vacation)

Then I'd swing down to Roma (Rome), Firenze (Florence), Venizia (Venice), Napoli (Naples). Then over to Greece, then through Istanbul (or is it Constantinople?), down through Palestine & Israel, over to Egypt. Basically work clockwise around the Meditteranean Sea. Morocco, Casablanca, then back across at Gibraltar and swing through Portugal & Spain. Hey, it's my dream... I don't have a clue where we'd find the time or money for all that.

I've also wanted to spend some time in Alaska - whether it's a cruise up through Prince William Sound or a road trip along the Alaskan Highway.

DH, however is dreaming of one day visiting Australia. That would be the best for him. But for me...ho hum.

But you see what happens when the wife does all the planning? WDW/DL and crystal clear ocean, fruity-rum-drinking, island based vacations is where we always end up!

My DH and I have a cruise already booked for October, but I think we're going to have to cancel it and rebook a trip for 2007 instead.

I was looking at the latest Caribbean magazine and on the inside cover is an ad for Sandals Antigua - omigod... it is gorgeous! St. Lucia and St. John have always been dream destinations, but now I'm thinking Antigua!

I would love to get back to Magen's Bay, St Thomas - of all the places we visited on cruises that is the one place I drea about returning to!!!!

It was always Italy until I moved here. I never wanted to go on a cruise until moving here, but I see the cruise ships in port and that is my next destination goal..... somewhere like the Carribean.

Lately all I want to do is go to Disney. I really need a fix.

We are hoping for to move to Italy in 2007. Germany would be a good move too. We're moving to Egypt this summer. I hope to see a lot of things in the next few years.
I'd really like to travel in Australia as well.

Right now, I'd like to be anywhere but here...it's a rainy, miserable day.....anyway, I don't really have a dream vacation....I'll travel almost anywhere...love to see new places....DH and I would love to go to Ireland and France someday.....we sailed in the British Virgin Islands after Christmas and it was unbelievable.....I honestly didn't think it would be my kind of vacation, living on a sailboat for a week, but boy was I wrong!! Wish I was there right now.......

I agree - mine would sure be shorter.

At the top of my list at the moment: China, Greece, Italy, Egypt, and Alaska.

We were fortunate enough to go to Australia and New Zealand last year, and I would go again in a heartbeat!!

Okay.....since this is a "DREAM VACATION".....

I would want go to Myrtle Beach, SC and have dinner at my favorite place - T-Bones. I would watch the sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean.

Then, I would hop on a plane and head to Hawaii. And then, I could watch the sun set over the Pacific!!

I was a music major in college, and I've always wanted to do a "musical tour" of Europe - see all the opera houses, concert halls, etc. and explore the places where my favorite composers lived and worked. Italy, Austria, Germany, France, England, Norway, Hungary, Poland, Russia, et. al....

I'd also love to do an archeological tour of Europe and visit some of the old sites from the Roman empire. DH has done a little of that in England when he was studying there for a semester in college. He wants to go back to Wales, Scotland, England, and Ireland for a trip again. He used to go over for a couple weeks every other year with various friends and has always loved it.

I'd also love to visit Thailand and China and go back to Japan someday.

DH and I are thinking about trying to have a baby, but he says he wants to take me to Europe before we have kids. Looks like I might get to go this summer...fun!
