Where do you dine after AK?

We'll be at AK on a Sunday in Jan. Might do CS at Flame Tree for lunch. AK closes at 5 the day we're there and I'm not thinking we'll even make it until then - my guess is 2 or 3 p.m. I was thinking of going to Ohana that night - I know, completely out of the way but we have a car so could just rest for the afternoon and head over for dinner.

Where is your favorite place to dine on an AK day??

I'm wondering the same thing! Thanks for posting. I'll be keeping an eye on your thread

Boma is cool because it's at the AKL, not far from the AK...and you still get that being on safari feeling. The buffet is very good, something for everyone!

The ribs at FT were very good, and I'm picky about bbq. We didn't try any of the AKL restaurants, but have heard good things.

We usually dine @ any of the disney hotels or @ downtown disney. Some of our favorite places are, Ohana , excellent food & entertainment., would highly recommend it, also enjoyed grandfloridian cafe, 1900 parkfaire, kona cafe @ the poleynesian, chef mickey,s @ the contemporary. Of course there is always rainforest, or Captain jack,s @ downtown disney. Hope this helps, happy planning. :cool1: :yay:

We did Boma on our AK day. AKL is a lovely resort, there are more animals to see on its savannahs, and there's a nice bar to relax in until dinner time.

It has always been our family tradition to have dinner at Chef Mickeys after AK.

We usually eat at our resort the day we are at AK. AK just always seems so hot and steamy that it wears us out, so we head back to the hotel and swim (me and DS) or nap (DH) then have dinner at our resort, usually WCC at WL. We will be trying the Maya Grill this year, since we are staying at CSR.

We did dinner at Yak & Yeti on our Animal Kingdom day. We didn't get there until 11:30 (and yes, we were able to do Expedition Everest and the Safari with less than a 20 minute wait at each). We had dinner at 4:45 right after the parade.

We never make it past about 2 or 3 at AK so it is too early to be thinking about dinner anywhere close. We always go to DHS after AK to catch a show, eat and see Fantasmic.

Boma Rocks! We love eating there after a day at the park. One of our favorite restarants is Ohana's. Make ressies early - book up fast. We also love going to Flying Fish at Boardwalk and spend the evening walking aorund the Boardwalk.

If you can afford Jiko, that would be our pick, located at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. A nice walk around to see the animal there, and they have a fire ring with a storyteller too.

Also, we enjoyed Yak n Yeti which is in Animal Kingdom.

I'd say Boma or Jiko. However, being that you're going to be done at AK earlier, I'd consider choosing someplace close to my resort.

What she said. :thumbsup2

Oh, and we absolutely love the soups and stews!

I originally made my reservations for dinner at Jiko for our first AK day.

The only reason I switched it is because our first AK day is also our best chance to see Spectro. So, now we have reservations at Boma for breakfast and CRT :confused3 for dinner.

We always plan to go downtown to eat and shop on the days we go to AK... we either go to Cap'n Jack's (have to rethink that next trip since they took the lobster off the menu!) or WPE.
