Where do you buy the pins that interact with the attractions?

Those pins sound like so much fun...but it looks like they are only sold in Epcot? If that is the case, then I guess if we're spending our first day in MK we won't get to wear the pins and see them light up. Is that correct, or is there a place in every park to buy them?

Thanks in advance for the guidance!!

Sharon

Sharon,
First, Welcome to these boards, lots of great people here.

Second, you can get those interactive pins at every park at WDW. You can also get them at DTD, and I think most of the resorts have them. I saw them at AS Music when I was there in November. If you go to the Disney site and look for the Virtual Pins area you can "earn" virtual pins. Once you have collected all of the virtual pins you can print out a certificate that will enable you to get a cute Mickey on the computer pin free for every interactive pin you buy.

Third..... Fairfield County??? I live in Bridgeport, and work at Fairfield University. YOu have to get in touch with me... The other two Caballeros.....and Don get together once a month to talk pins, Disney, and best of all to eat. You will have to try and get together with us, it's so much fun.

Hi Peggie,
Thanks for your response!

We are just getting into the pin thing...in preparation for our trip to DisneyWorld I thought I'd buy "a few pins" for my kids to trade and now I have a whole bunch! I can tell this collecting thing can get very addictive!!

I live in Weston so we are very close to each other. Feel free to e-mail me with details of any get-togethers. Do kids come too?

Thanks again!!

Sharon

Yes, please try to look up the Caballeros....and Dom. We love talking Disney and pins.

Unfortunately, the Disney site does not appear to offer the certificate to get a free pin anymore. The promotion does not expire until June 30th, but the opportunity to get the certificates on line seems to have gone away. I do have a copy of a certificate left that I think they should let you use. If you hook up with us some day, I will be happy to give it to you.

In addition to meeting for lunch in the Stratford/Milford area once in a while, we also have a standing pin meet set up at West Farms Mall on the second Saturday of every month. Please feel free to join us. 3:00 for pins and then dinner at the Rainforest Cafe or California Pizza Kitchen at 5:30ish. Kids are more than welcome!!

Cynthia

Thanks Cynthia!

I do have the certificate thanks to this site!!

I would like to try and make the next mall meeting, but it will be the day before we leave for Disney so it might be a bit hectic!! I still have to find out exactly how far that mall is from me. What exit on the Merritt (or 95) is it? Do kids come to this as well?

Thanks for the nice welcome!!

Sharon

Actually, West Farms Mall is off of Route 84, west of Hartford. I think taking Rte 8 north to 84, then going east on 84 to exit 40 is the best route. Peggie and Leslie prefer to take the Merritt to 691 to 84. Check it out on a map.

Several kids have come to our Saturday meets in the past. We've never had kids join us for lunch because it's normally during the week and they're in school! :D

FYI I also bought one of these pins at the store in the Orlando Airport. I pin I bought was one I could not get a the parks b/c it was sold out, so you might want to do a quick run thru there before heading to bag claim.

Have a great trip!
