Do you book through Disney, an online travel agent, or your local travel agent?

I'm so looking forward to getting my trip booked, but I want to make sure I'm going to the best source.

Anything you're able to share with me would be greatly appreciated. :wave2:

I booked with Stephanie at AAA Mid-Atlantic. I found her on here, she's a DIS'er and she's been fantastic. And with AAA we saved $300 on our rooms! :thumbsup2

If you're looking for an AAA package quote, pm me and I can give you her info. :)

through anyone. We get the room through our timeshare and then from there, I get the tickets and stuff. You could go through a travel agent...I am sure Disney is quite a popular destination for them!! Good luck!!

I have found that the best place to book Disney and Disney's full range of products is thru an "Authorized Disney Vacation Planner". Those that meet these high demands are able to display a logo that you will recognize. Many times discounts and insider information is available. Enjoy,

I used this site...

I haven't gone yet but I'm confident that all will go very well. You tell them what you want and they book it for you AND they watch for any discounts/promotions and apply them to your reservation for you. YOU don't have to worry about it. I booked at rack rate (to guarantee a room) but she (my Small World Vacations agent) will apply the AP holder discount when those discounts become available (usually in the fall for a Nov/Dec trip). Check them out and get a free quote!

Small World Vacations IS an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner:thumbsup2

I usually book everything all by myself! Its very easy, but is somewhat time consumiing for being on the phone with central reservations can sometimes take the longest! The # for central reservations in WDW is 1-800-828-0228.
Also being on these boards the people are soooo helpful! Any questions just ask!! :thumbsup2

I used my local AAA agent -- she gave us a much better deal than what I found online, and had some excellent recommendations for us.

In 2004 I booked on the Walt Disney World Resort site but this year (trip planned for August) I booked through Small World Vacations because they are authorized Disney agents. SHe has been great. I just paid mine off at the beginning of the week and she told me that she would continue to look for any applicable discounts and would let me know.

I am a DVC member, so I book thru Member Service.

Sometimes we go through AAA and other times we will do the booking ourselves. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Have a Disney Day :thumbsup2

I booked through disneyworld.com for this trip. I found it easiest, because I HATE talking on the phone. hehe

I also booked with AAA. They were the best deal I could find. We saved $300.00 plus I recently found a coupon for $50.00 off any AAA vacation and my wonderful agent honored the coupon for me! So, in total we saved $350.00. Not a bad deal! :thumbsup2

I do everything myself. Resort, tickets directly through Disney. Book my own air. I know as much as a travel agent. I know where to find the discounts, etc.

We also booked our last trip with Small World Travel. She got us a better deal than what we were seeing online. We also got the dining plan free. Then again, after reading other posts, I think it was a Disney promo.. She was super nice and I would use her again if we needed an agent. Or at least call her and ask what she can do.

Well for my last trip I used my DVC points to stay at the Disneyland Hotel and I just booked my airfare online and took a shuttle from the airport to my hotel. This upcoming trip Im using my DVC points again for Saratoga Springs and first trip to WDW and I booked my airfare through westjet.com

As for other trips I have used travel agents and expedia.ca

My personal prefrence is a travel agent as you just tell them what you want and they arrange everything for you :)

For 35 some years we always book through CRO, for me, everythings right from the horses mouth. We aked our questions, we get our answers, we write down our confirm numbers, we confirm our main dinner shows and numbers and we're good to go. They offer suggestions, tell us of new things and are very helpful in closing the deal, and I know in a few days our reservation paper will be in the mail. No worries and no one has to get back to me or check on anything. Only way to go for us.

I usually book it all myself. I have too many issues that I need to make sure are taken care of. :)

This is my first "adult" trip, so I booked with a travel agent only because I was worried about screwing things up. It worked out well. She found better airfare rates than what I found online and gave great advice and tips. Now that I found the DIS, I might do it myself next time or use one of the agencies that have been recommended here. :thumbsup2

We just booked through AAA, since we wanted the dining plan too. We saved a little over $300. We booked our rental car and other hotel stays (we're taking 2 days to drive) ourselves though.
