Where do you bathe your dog?

Our last Lab had to be picked up and placed in the tub...He hated getting baths! That was hard to do since he weighed in at 100 lbs! Our present Lab, Hunter, loves the water!!! I have to watch him all the time because he jumps into the tub on his own, whether it's his bath water or someone elses!

TC:cool:

I have a dog grooming room with a raised bath tub so I don't have to bend over to bathe the dogs. It also has a hand held shower sprayer.

We do the bathtub for our small dog (18 lbs). He will run and jump in. he likes the attention, but not getting wet. He has actually jumped in the shower before while I was in there ......he thought he was getting his bath.....;)
and he loves to be blown dry.....he falls asleep while I do it.

I know this is odd for most dogs but we did it since he was a puppy and he does not know any different......:) :)

It sure does sound like we have some pretty spoiled pups! :teeth:

outside - my dog - a german shepherd - loves to swim but hates to get a bath (and hates the rain). I gave her a bath last week outside with the hose, usually do it with DH but he was working. Very hard to do with one person. I got her all soaped up and was about to start washing her off when she took off running around and around the house like a lunatic. It was sooo funny - my neighbors were cracking up.

With my Shepherds I go to a Petco Unleashed near me, they have tubs in the back where the dog walks into it and you can bathe them it costs $10 but so worth it not to try and bathe a 110 pound dog in my house

Large child's pool (he's 75 lbs!) weather permitting.
Dog bath bay at our car wash in the colder/winter weather.

Our first dog was small we bathed him in our twin laundry tub but, we didn't recycle washer water it was solely for him.

When we lived in NY it wasn't so easy. The yard was all dirt & grass so it was a mess. Now we have a deck and live in FL so it's all outside baths. Baths are easy the real PIA is when it's time to clip nails, that's 140, a chore spread out over 2 days easy.

Libby, my seven pound Yorkie/Bichon mix gets bathed in the kitchen sink.

In winter, in the tub in the bathroom.

The rest of the year, in the wash stall in the barn where we bathe the horses. We cross-tie her in there and have at her.

Max gets his bath outside. My friend bathes her dogs in her bathtub. Why do I have a problem with that?! Where do you bathe your dog?

I couldn't do it outside since we don't have warm water out there- I would never spray him down with cold hose water!

Chewy (12 lb shih tzu) gets a bath in our tub. When he gets clipped, my husband does it at his brothers house because neither my or my daughters allergies could stand all the floating hair.

We use a kiddie pool outside in the summer, the bathtub in the winter.

When weather permits I tie him up outside and do it with the house. I have to tie him because if not he says, "No freaking way", and runs. I don't know why...As long as he's tied up he just sits there.

In the winter I take him to a dog washing station.

We go to the dog wash at my vet. It's awesome - it's got a big stainless tub with a ramp that you can walk your dog up. You put in $5 and there's a wand (like at a self-serve car wash) that dispenses shampoo, medicated shampoo, flea wash, conditioner, etc. They provide the towels - you just throw them in a hamper when you leave. We bring both dogs and I can wash them for about $7.50, which is TOTALLY worth it to me to not have to spend time cleaning my tub/bathroom/house after I've bathed them in the tub. Plus both of my dogs are big (100 lbs and 80 lbs) and I can't lift them into the clawfoot tub at home.

We give our (80lb) dog her bath in our walk in shower. She HATES the water (rain included) so trying to keep her in the tub is pretty much impossible. Hence the shower. We can get her in and then shut the door and she can't get out.
