Getting married at 'Leu Gardens' in November, but not sure where to go for something to eat afterwards.
We have a party of 9 adults and 3 children and would like to go somewhere for a meal.
We where going to go to 'Charlies Steakhouse' as this was recomended to us by a friend who had been before, but unfortunately we have since found out that it does not open until 5pm, but we are getting married at 1pm so this will be too late.
If anyone has any recomendations I would be very greatful as I am panicking a little now and would like to get it booked asap.
Thanks

A very excited bride to be !!!!

The Grand Floridian Cafe has an elegant atmosphere and is open for lunch.

Although Grand Floridian Cafe is indeed an elegant setting, they stop seating people at 2:00.....or at least they did this summer. We tried about a miute past 2 this July to no avail. We did not have a PS as our flight got in around 12:30. I don't know where Leu Gardens is but I would be afraid you might not have time. Of course, if you talk to the restaurant directly perhaps they could help you with a slightly later seating than normal.

Leu Gardens is about half an hour NE of WDW. I hadn't really noticed you were getting married off property when I first responded, sorry.

What day of the week are you getting married? If it's a Sunday, Capriccio at the Peabody has a wonderful brunch that goes 11-2, and it's about 15 minutes from the park.

Otherwise, maybe afternoon tea at the Peabody or the GF?

Does it have to be a Disney restaurant?? I'm guessing all your guests won't have park passes....

For Disney restaurants, some friends of ours had their wedding dinner at Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge. It is not fancy by any means, but they have a set fee of like $22 per person, and it's all you want to eat... they bring it to your table and keep bringing more and more and more. The cuisine is more BBQ and the atmosphere was neat because the Cast Members who work there made a big deal and the whole restaurant ended up part of the dinner. They made the bride and groom prance around the room on toy horses.

I'm not sure what you're into, but it's fun. I also don't know what time they start dinner.

In the parks, I would highly suggest Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle at the magic kingdom. It would be a PERFECT spot for a wedding dinner, but they won't let you wear your dress into the park.

As for non-Disney, there is a really nice Italian restaurant in Celebration called Cafe D'Antonio. It's really nice inside, and plenty of photo opportunities across the street from the restaurant near a small lake.

If you're looking for REALLY nice, Emerils' Tchoup Chop is at Universal's Royal Pacific hotel and serves lunch. It is VERY beautiful, and we went there for lunch on Valentine's day. The cuisine is Asian/Polynesian.

All of the other good things I can think of don't open until 5pm or later.

I don't understand the "they won't let you wear your dress into the park" thing. Anyone know the reasoning behind this. The only reason I can think of is because they want the $$$ to make your wedding themselves. Just currious really. Anybody know?

The main reason they don't want you wearing your dress around the park is partly for the bride's own safety. I can speak from experience that wearing a wedding gown around Disney can create quite the spectacle. Many parents and children mistake brides for princesses. If a bride were to walk into magic kingdom in her wedding gown, its easy to imagine her being overrun with guests who think she is a character.

Brides are allowed to wear their gowns into EPCOT, and into MGM if they are having weddng day related event at a location in the park (and in which case you are esorted around the park by a cast member). Mk doesn't have any venues for receptions, unless you hold your reception there after hours.

Thanks for all the ideas, at least I have somewhere to think about.
Are we allowed to eat in most of the Disney Hotels, even though we are not staying there?
I quite like the sound of the 'Whispering Canyon' it sounds fun.
