Where do these elevators go???

I have been to MK at least a dozen times, but when I was there earlier this week, I noticed something I have never noticed before: in Tomorrowland, I am not sure exactly where but I think by TTA, there was a pair of elevators. I am sure they have always been there, but I just never noticed. Anyway, where do they lead? Is that how you get to Astro Orbiters? Obviously, I have never ridden Astro Orbiters; I now realize that I have never seen the entrance and have no idea how to get to that ride. Can anyone shed some light? TIA.
