Where Do Teenagers Prefer To Stay?

Hi, I'm taking my teenage step children to Disney. They have never been before. I was thinking about splitting the stay between one of the Magic Kingdom resorts and Old Key West, or the Beach Club/Boardwalk area.

Which MK resort is best for teenagers - Grand Floridian, Contemporary or Poly? And do teenagers actually like staying near the Magic Kingdom? 11 year old - 14 and 16 year olds.

Also, would they like OKW, or prefer the Beach Club area? Or is Animal Kingdom Lodge better for teens?

Thank you. I never went to Disney until I was older so I haven't a clue what teenagers would like there.

I just loved POFQ.
I liked how it was outdoors and you could just go take walks (which, surprisingly, I did.)
I liked the food court because at any time, you could go get something to eat by yourself.
The pool area was nice.

Its just my favorite resort.

But if I had to pick, I'd say the Contemporary, because its hip, and extremely close to the Magic Kingdom. I'd love to stay there.

We are planning a vacation in the spring, and I think we are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

If it was me I love to stay at the Fort Wilderness Cabins!

I love that it is quiet and has that laid back feeling. It really is a home away from home because of the way the cabins are. 2 words, HUGE BATHROOM!

I've only stayed at the value resorts. All-Star movies, Pop Century, etc.
But I've always wanted to stay at the Contemporary and Animal Kingdom Lodge and I'm 14. :]

I always stay at the Dolphin in WDW. It's my FAVORITE. But between the CR, Poly, and GF..I'd pick the CR. I've heard the GF is more for older people. The Contemporary Resort has great restaurants, and the rooms are really nice.

Hi there. im a 16 year old and well i stayed at the Contemporary and the Beach Club. I loved the beach club cause they have a pool with sand at the bottom with a big slide. the Contemporary was awsome too. Im sure they would like what ever you picked out

I'm 16 my favorite resorts are Wilderness Lodge and Boardwalk Villas.

The Wilderness Lodge was sooo close to the Magic Kingdom, which I loved, because staying at the Boardwalk for all my other years...that bus ride to Magic Kingdom was pretty long-ish. So it was nice to have a short bus ride to the Magic Kingdom.

I love the Boardwalk. It's at a walking distance to MGM and Epcot, which is nice. I've walked to MGM and Epcot a couple of times when we stayed at BWV. They also have the friendship boats incase your too tired to walk But sometimes the line is really really long (like after Fantasmic or Illuminations) But I prefer to walk and enjoy the senery :]

Saratoga Springs is really really close to Downtown Disney. Old Key West is really close to Downtown Disney too. So if your teens like to shop, maybe that is a plus.

Out of the 3 choices of Poly, Contemporary, or Grand Floridian, I'd probably pick the Poly or Contemporary. I like the contemporary because of it's style, and the monorail I like the Poly because of the theme. I've never stayed at Poly, Contemporary, or Grand Flordian, so I can't give you first hand experience.

BWV has a great community hall too, and it's great for teens, IMO. They have video games, ping pong, coloring, and they play a movie. All of it is free (although some crafts they make cost a couple of bucks) and if you're a DVC member, you caneven rent movies for free, just show them your room card.

They'd probably like wherever you pick.

I know my parents ask my opinion, but its ultimately their choice.
I didn't think I'd like POFQ, but I loved it.

I'm 15.
My favorite resorts are Carribbean Beach and Beach Club.
Carribbean Beach is great for teens IMO because you can just walk around or sit out on the beach.
I love the Beach Club too because the pool is amazing and its right on the Boardwalk.

I've never stayed at Poly, CR, or GF.
But if I could stay at any I would choose the CR.

The Poly has a great theme. I've been there twice, and I would go back again. I've been spoiled with such a great resort, that if my parents said they were taking me and we were going somewhere else I'd probably have a fit ^^'
The atmosphere is amazing, they have a little fake beach, you can watch the water parade.
And transportation is pretty good too. You can take the monorail to MK or to the TTC. OR You can simply walk to the TTC. (TTC has the other monorail that takes you to Epcot).

I really want to stay at the Poly. And Im not sure when your going but I know that the contemporary is having construction done so I dont know if you'd want to stay there now. The Beach Club is amazing, I just stayed there in august and that totally gets my vote. So Im going to say the Poly & the Beach Club. P.S.- im 13

I think I'd rather GF or Contemorary. but that's just my taste. and I'm 12.

I luv Old Key West that is where I stay most of the time when we go. My parents are DVC members and that is their home resort.

All the resorts you mentioned near the MK are awesome. My personal choice would be the Contemporary just because of the atmospreere and it is uber close to the MK.

I am 13 and I wouldn't mind at all staying near the MK. Actaually i don't mind staying at any of the resorts.

You will have loads of fun

Animal Kingdom lodge is really cool. Of the MK resorts, Poly or Grand Floridian is good.

I'm 15, and the last time we went to Disney we stayed at Poly. I loved it! It was amazing; the rooms were beautiful, as was the view. The Beach Club is tied with it, though. But EPCOT is my favorite park, too, so I'm biased.

Out of the three, Poly's my favorite. I've stayed at GF, and it really wasn't that great (no offense to those who like it). I've never stayed at the Contemporary, though.
