Make that, where do teenage girls shop so that they look stylish, but not like working girls..My DD is 14 and starts High School this year and I have no clue where to take her.. I was never *cool* and don't want DD to suffer the same fate

Abercrombie, American Eagle, Hollister are my DD's favorites!! They are expensive though. Luckily her birthday was yesterday and she gets gift cards and money!!!

My 15 year old daughter and her friends like...
Old Navy
Kohls
Pac Sun
American Eagle Outfitters.
Pac Sun and American Eagle are expensive for our budget. We look for the sales. :thumbsup2 Our Kohls is brand new and has a great junior section. I don't know how other Kohls stores are in comparison.

Abercrombie is so expensive that even my teenage daughter walked in the store, looked at a few prices, yelled "that's ridiculous" and walked out. :rotfl:

Abercrombie (we have an outlet :teeth: )
American Eagle
H&M (this is my DD's new LOVE)
Pac Sun

Go to the trendy stores to see what they have and then go to the less expensive stores where you can often find the same styles for less.

My 14yo DD will be starting HS this year, she's already mentioned that she wants to wait until school starts to do much shopping. The stores already mentioned are the hottest stores but she's found the same looks at JCP and Kohls for much less. We are going to be searching for jeans this year and are limited in selection, she could fit the longs at PacSun last year but they are getting a little short. We'll be looking for another jean source and we do end up spending money there but she's a hard size so can't wear the department store jeans.

What the above posters said. American Eagle is not as *flashy* as Abercrombie.

Hit the sales and you will save big $$$$! There's some good sales going on right now - you can pick up shirts and shorts and skirts pretty cheap at American Eagle. Another good store is Aeropostale.

My DD is almost 21 and likes to shop at Bosvov's, Bon Ton, Kaufmann's and Macy's, too. She bargain shops and does quite well with the sales. :) She goes into Abercrombie and scopes out what she likes and then patiently waits for the markdowns to begin.

If you have a Wet Seal at a mall near you, that's also a nice (and trendy) store to shop at. They have good sales as well.

AE and Hollister are where my sister shops. AE has a lot of sales an this All Access thing where you earn points based on what you buy and get can get % off coupons.

AF clothing is cheap and overpriced.

Have you tried American Eagle. I do believe they carry "short" "average" and "long" jeans. Also, whenever I do get my DD jeans at Abercrombie, they are very long.

When I was a teen I got most of my clothes at kohl's, AE and abercrombie. I love kohl's they have a killer junior section and usually great sales as well. You can get basic tees for 4 bucks, crop pants for 12. I usually get my jeans at target or AE. Old navy is also popular I don't really like it though.

The only problem we've had with Kohl's is quality. The jeans are fine, but every T-shirt my DD has gotten there as "gotten short" after washing. Everyone of them.

Despite the higher prices of AE and Abercrombie, their clothing REALLY holds up well. The T-shirts seem really flimsy but they wash up very nicely, hold their color and shape.

We did last year but will try again, if I remember correctly the smaller sizes were too big. The style is for the jeans to be pretty long and she's almost all legs so there are limited choices she doesn't get to pick jeans for style but more on what fits.

My DD13 wears all the cool name brands (American Eagle, Aeropostale, Abercrombie, Gap, Old Navy, etc.), but I buy it at Salvation Army and other thrift shops for $1 - $2 per piece (sometimes it is expensive as $3). The clothes are brand new, too. No one knows any different but us. Brand new clothes I buy from boutiques. I like boutique shopping because then DD gets the ultra trendy clothes that none of the other kids have because their parents have spent all their money at the mall. I just don't like to spend so much money on mass produced clothes that every other person is wearing. Same goes for shoes. I buy her brand new shoes at the thrift shops for $1 - $3 a pair. I pop into the consignment shops every now and then. That is mostly where I find second hand boutique items.

H&M is my favorite but we don't live near one. I got so fat when preggo with the twins that none of my stuff from there fits me anymore. I have it all packed in a box though because I just can't part with it yet!

American Eagle. I used to think it was too expensive, but I have to say the clothing holds up well with repeated washing. If you get an AE credit card, there's a discount day every month, as well as a "frequent shopper" type program that earns a discount coupon. We never pay full price - always wait for a sale or coupon. Lots of clearance bargains and an easy website to shop.

My daughter and her friends like all the stores mentioned above and they also like Wet Seal.

I like to buy the trendy stuff at Old Navy because its cool, but cheap. No need to pay a lot of money for clothes that will be out of style in two weeks!

My DD11 is going into the 8th grade....all of her clothes come from Aeropostale. All of her friends are 13 & they shop there too. Recently, she expressed an interest in shopping at American Eagle. I told her we'd go back when we do our Back to School shopping.
