I have a question for all the pros on this site. I am thinking are carring a small backpack type bag in the parks. I just need to put our passporter, camera, ponchos, and small bottle of suncreen in it. I know I can put it in the lockers, but this is stuff we need all day. So my question is where do I put it on the rides? Is there a place to keep stuff like this on the rides so it does not get stolen or broke?

Also I do not want it to be in all our pictures, we are getting the photo CD, will the CM taking the picture hold it for you or not? This is our 1st time to DW and I want to make it easy and great!

Thanks!

Some rides have a pouch in the back of the seats in front of you so that you can place your items in during the ride. Other rides, like those in Fantasyland are tame enough for you to hold your backpack.

last year, my wife used a camera bag and her sister purchased a small backpack (very small...looks like a backpack for a kid). She also purchased a smaller wallet (and she has a small camera). She just went "small" all the way around because she knew that she'd be carrying the bag everywhere she went.

I ALWAYS bring a backpack with me. Like previous poster said for the rougher rides they usually have pouches on the back of the seat in front of you or underneath you. But on rides like Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain and yes even Rockin' Rollercoaster...I just put my leg through one of the loops and put it on the floor. It never moves and I have never had a problem with it getting in the way :goodvibes

I like to use a small drawstring cloth backpack. If I don't put too much in it, I can leave it on my back on most of the rides. Otherwise, I can hold it on my lap or put it on the floor with one of the straps wrapped around my legs so I won't forget it.

I like to put anything that could wet (from either rain or a water ride) inside a Ziploc bag inside the packback. I have also seen bags made of ripstop nylon in sporting goods stores--haven't tried one to see if it's waterproof.

The skinny straps of the backpack show in a picture, but not much, and hey, it's a vacation photo, right? Kinda goes with the shorts and tank tops. :)

Just an innocent question - is the Passporter the spiral notebook passporter? If it is I would suggest copying pages that are pertinent and leaving it in your room cause it's going to get heavy. By just copying a page of the restaurants in that park or whatever you have only a page or two to contend with. Or definitely think about getting a locker and storing it in there while you're at the park.

Just a thought only cause I brought mine first trip and after the first park it stayed at my resort. :sunny: Ely

I wear a full back pack (not a hiking backpack, but like a high school students) whenever we go to amusement parks. It just makes everyones life a little easier. And while my husband may offer to hold it at times, it is usually me. I try to keep the weight down, but its pretty full. You can put it at your feet on practically every ride. I have never had a problem with it. If your interested this is what I typically have in it.

purell
water bottels (usually 2)
camera
ponchos
first aid kit (bandaids, advil (adult and child), immodium, pepcid complete and lactaid (for my lactose intolerent))
small snack in case someone gets an upset tummy (usually a sleeve of crackers)
sun screen

Thanks for all the help. I have the delux passporter so I might just take out the pages we need. I did not think about that, thanks. Now I just have to find a bag.

I just took the pages out of the deluxe passporter and stuffed them in that days folder, then just took the folder in with me

Since you are traveling so light, why not just uses your pockets? Cargo pants would be useful in this case.
