Hi all. Just got back from a great week at Akl, with the standard dining plan. We are seasoned Disney vacationers, Dvc members, etc.. We always use the dining plan, and include at least one Signature restaurant for the trip. We are happy that now we are given the choice of a salad/soup, etc, instead of dessert for a table service credit, and think that was a long overdue change to the plan. Disney has not made that adjustment to their signature restaurants, but this trip we went to our favorite, Narcoosees, and we're very disappointed to find out that they had changed their menu to NOT include their signature dish of Surf and Turf! In addition, they wanted to charge $27 for the side of a lobster tail!!! If Disney is taking two table credits for this meal, how can they not include our sides? So, now that we are home, we received several questionnaires via Email. There were many questions related to dining and dining plans, but no place to make a comment to complain about the Signature credits. There were a few places they let us type in comments to praise our experiences, and cast members, but no where to make a complaint. Does anyone know where I can reach out to Disney directly regarding the dining plan. Please understand we are Disney fanatics, and absolutely love our home away from home. I have accepted many price increases over the years, but now it seems like we are actually getting LESS for our money. Thanks for listening, and directing me to any official email that I might reach out to. Thanks! Jane

Did you let management know while you were there or talk to anyone while at Disney? You can still complain now by emailing wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com or write a letter to

It is harder for the restaurant to make it right though if you don't give them the opportunity while you are there.

A "side" is vegetable/potato/other starch that comes as a complete plated meal. The lobster tail is not a side, it is an "enhancement." on the DDP you are entitled to an entree, drink and dessert and all of their entrees are complete meals with sides paired to that entree. But to bring the prices of the entrees more in line with the prices of all of the other 2TS restaurants, Disney removed the surf and turf as a standalone entree from the menu. You can add a lobster tail to any steak if you wish but these enhancements are not included under the DDP, kind of the same way the appetizers are not included under DDP but you are welcome to order if you want. You are still getting about the same value as at any other 2TS restaurant, just not the standout value of the $75 surf and turf.

that said you are not the only one upset by this. Go ahead and write, and curious what they say... but they are not breaking the 'rules' in any way.

DDP has never included separately priced sides. Not even at signature restaurants. What they did was make the lobster tail a separately priced side so it wouldn't be included.

Thank you all for your responses. Yes, I understood that sides are not included. My issue was that the dish was taken away as surf and turf, and changed to have lobster tail as a separate item for $27. At a 1 credit table service meal, prices range from approximately $20-45. If I have to use 2 credits, you would think they could cover the price of the lobster tail. Besides, it's not like they're giving you 2 drinks, 2 meals, 2 desserts. The way I see it, they're way ahead of the game.
