Years ago, before I ever had any kids, my parents bought me a Kenmore Sewing Machine--top of the line, etc. I've used it to sew heavy duty material like my husband's jeans, etc. Its a great sewing machine. I LOVED it!
Can see Im writing in past tense?
Well we just did a military move this past April. During the mover, one of the movers accidentally dropped my sewing machine on our tile floor cracking the main frame, nuts and bolts are out, parts are sticking out...its a mess!
I was so furious as I had told my "fashion designing" daughter that we would make a few of her dresses that she designed. Now I can't until I get a replacement.
I called our local Sears and they do not offer this model but all the lower quality of their product, Kenmore. I asked if they did repairs--they do not.
First of all for the military claim, I need to know how much this product is so I can get reimbursed the amount since my parents no longer have the receipt. Secondly I'd like to replace it with the equivelent of, but have to know how much Im getting back in return to know how much I can pay.
I went to our local JoAnn Fabrics, they do not sell sewing machines. I thought they did since our old JoAnn's had a whole section of sewing machines. Our local Michaels and Hobby Lobby doesn't sell them either.
So where do I find a replacement and how do I find out the price of this sewing machine?
Oh and I need to know because the Claims Dept is coming out to the house on Tuesday for us to tell them how much everything costs and they'll decide if they are going to pay for it or not
Keep your fingers crossed because they also broke DH's XBox360 and our new 42" LCD Flatscreen tv that we just got in December as well as a bunch of other glass items like a retired Precious Moments, Yankee Candles, and a bunch more!
Oh and if I find something online, whats a good price for shipping? I dont want to spend too much since sales tax is rather expensive where I live. I just paid 10 dollars in sales tax for a video game and small spindle of dvd rw's.
