Hello, I hope you can help !

Just back from DLRP - Most Amazing Holiday EVER !!!! We stayed at Cheyenne for 4 nights/5days.

Now would like to start planning for WDW and have not a clue where to start ?

Is there a sticky with information ? I am not sure where to stay, what to do about dining plans, or where to go !

We would like to do 2 weeks in October 2010, or 2011...but of course can't book that far ahead. Flying from Glasgow or Manchester (we are in the North East but can't see any flights from Newcastle)

Trying to work out whether we can manage to save the amount involved ! What is a ball park figure ? How much spends ?

DLRP We did Disney Hotel and Premium Meals so we could do Charachter Meals/Shows etc. Of course it is a lot cheaper than America I am sure !

I would love some tips on where is best to book our holiday, how many days park passes ? Where else to go ? Universal, Busch Garden Etc.

As you can see we are newbies to Disney and are clueless !!!!

We have 2 girls aged 10 and 6.

Thanks for any help or advice you can give us xxxxxxxxxxx

We are going in Oct 2010 too :thumbsup2
We have just got back form 6 nights at Cheyenne DLRP :thumbsup2
We are also a family of 4 going to WDW for the 1st time :thumbsup2
:rotfl:

I think for flights we are looking at APPROX £2000
Tickets APPROX £1300
Car Hire APPROX £600

We are staying in Timeshare accommodation :cool2:so that takes a HUGE chunk out of the cost.

I keep finding little bits that add to the cost, and I have my fingers crossed for some bargains or sales. I think the trick is to keep the holiday money aside to book any bargains straight away, as they don't last for long.

I haven't even been yet so someone will come along with more (and better) advice I am sure.

Hello !

Wasn't it fantastic !!! It was so quiet - loved it loved it !!!!

Oh I bet you are soo excited !

I have been trying to price and it's looking like 5k plus spends....so 2010 may not be managable (well it is but we would be living like paupers) Hehehe !

I just don't have a clue where to start !

You need to start by deciding.
A package or DIY? DIY can be around half the price of a package but can take a lot of time, effort & patience putting it all together.
Direct or Indirect flights? Direct will save you about 3+ hours each way and no changing of planes but again the prices can be upto double direct.
Onsite or Offsite? Prices offsite from about £15/night, onsite a lot more but include things like free parking.
Car or no car? Orlando is massive. Car is the easy option but some prefer not to.
Maybe buy a book, I never have but some like to read a guide 1st. If no book read the DIS every day and ask lots of questions.

Car Hire APPROX £600

How long you going for and what size car? Just priced up a full size car for 2 weeks incl insurance £240. £600 is a lot for car hire unless you are going for something really big or a long holiday.

£240!!! really?????? Wow I have really misjudged that then:headache:
We are going for 3 weeks, there are 4 of us and luggage obviously!!

I better investigate this car hire hire business a bit more:surfweb:...maybe I am looking in the wrong place

Try this lst, all companies that are used on here often. Price up with them all, any could be cheapest for your dates. What I would say is if its next year wait, many companies have not loaded next years prices yet, ones that have are OTT.
To get an idea of cost price your dates for 2009 instead of 2010, they should be around what you will expect to pay when prices settle.
