Hello everyone...I am a newbie to cruising, but a veteran planner for WDW trips! I feel overwhelmed about where to begin for a cruise, and wasn't planning on taking one until later in 2004, but my best friend and her family have sent me a message saying they have been told of a deal on a 7 day eastern trip at beginning of Nov for Category 11 room at $999 for adults and $435 for the kids (under 12). This is just for the cruise. Is this a good deal? I really wanted to take the time to research this, but I think she's looking for a pretty quick answer. Also, other than this fabulous board, can you direct me to a very comprehensive site on WDW Cruising for Newbie's!? Thanks so much.

Check out http://www.allseastravel.com/. Their posted price for that itinerary is $791.50/pp for the 1st two and $441/pp for 3th & 4th.

I'm sure there are other deals out there, but All Season is a good barometer of pricing...

While researching prices for our cruise, I have seen several places who have offered $799 for that itinerary. (maybe expedia.com and/or travelocity.com as well as allseastravel.com)

That sounds a little steep for November unless it is over the Thanksgiving holidays. A category 11 is a standard inside room.
Here are some great links for DCL

www.castawayclub.com and www.wdwig.com/cruise/cruise.shtml

The last one is a basically a manual to understand DCL- the first one is a couple who have cruised DCL so many times- that they might as well live there!! I should be so lucky.

BUT if you have any questions, this is the placen to ask. I also go to WDW quite a bit and you will be surprised how relaxing it is on the cruise- just as exciting though!!
