I'd like to post a link in my signature to my disney site that I have reviews, etc on. Is that allowed? Who do I ask to review it to make sure it is ok?

easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission, and it depends on which moderator and which board you post up on, some will say meh, some will say no.*

*there are clear cut guide lines.

Actually the info is listed in the board guidelines so the answer should be the same no matter what board you are on

OP looks like you found the info :thumbsup2

Different moderators may have different perspectives, but we always refer to the guidelines first, and if there is doubt we will ask the webmasters.

The rules for linking to websites are pretty clear imo.

Since we have had some humor and differing answers here but not the clear answer I want to make sure that anyone reading this thread gets the absolute answer.

You are correct OP, the answer is found in our guidelines. Specifically:

LINKS TO OTHER SITES: You are welcome to link to your website on our boards provided that a) you are not promoting a commercial service or for-profit venture, b) you don't post primarily to promote your site and c) that you place a prominent link back to the DIS on your website. Before posting a link to another site, we ask that you please first check to see if the same information is available on www.wdwinfo.com. We take great pride in our website. While we make the boards available for your enjoyment, our focus is Disney travel planning.

This primarily refers to placing a link to your site in your signature. You may not post a thread on any of your boards just to promote your site. Also if we see that the only input you are having on the boards is to recommend your site then we consider that spamming.

If you wish to provide a link for a charitable cause or wish to ask for donations for a worthy cause then you would need to get that cleared from our board owner first and you may send an email to admin@wdwinfo.com . We also do not allow "vote for me, or others" threads, such as "my puppy is in a cutest dog contest, please vote for him here *link*.

If you are ever in doubt if something you would like to do is allowed, please feel free to PM a moderator, or send an email to admin@wdwinfo.com . While sometimes it turns out okay to "beg for forgiveness", it is just as likely that you might end up banned from the site for not following the guidelines. I prefer the saying "Better safe than sorry"! ;)

Well, I've already had one infraction for a link, so I didn't want to "take a chance" as I don't want to run the risk of being banned. I have sent my link to the email above, but have not heard a reply and it has been several days. My site is just a family site wtih my opinions on where to eat, what my reviews of hotels are, pictures, etc. I doubt there would be a problem, but don't want my hand slapped again.

Send me a PM with the link and I will check it out for you
