I was the second woman-just graduated college-hired in the Engineering Dept of the company . When they gave company tours to visitors-the other girl and I were always pointed out. This was back in the olden days when most women only worked as secretaries.;)

DH's brother was training me. Dh worked in another department-but suddenly was visiting his brother a lot.
:);)

Weird. I could have sworn you said you were a physician. I wonder who I'm thinking of?

We met the summer before my senior year in high school.

We've now been together for 3.5 years....

Is one year together long enough to be included? It's been the most wonderful year of my life and I look forward to the many, many more years we will have together!

And what would you consider eHarmony, a dating service? That's how we met...

eHarmony...
A REAL relationship site....

meaning that they actually try to put you with someone who is compatible with you...

What a fun thread, I enjoyed reading.

DH and I met in a unique way. He had gone to the church that I had started going to. He had gone before he left for the military, I started after he left. I was 15 and in the youth group. He was 19 and in the Gulf War. The youth group decided to write him letters, being that I didn't know him, I just wrote Good Luck, Thinking of You at the top of someone else's note (and signed my name.) He liked my handwriting (bubbly teenage writing back then,) so he wrote me back, just me by the way. We wrote though 9 months of him being there and as soon as the war was over and he got near a phone he called me. I was in school so he spoke to my grandma who was home at the time. She fell in love with him (for me of course!) and could not wait to tell me when I got home all about their conversation.

About a month later he came home on leave. I surprised him at the airport along with a bunch of people from the youth group. It was funny, he hugged everyone BUT me, he shook my hand. It was funny, he was nervous.

We dated a bit while he was home, then he left with the promise to try to get back sometime in the next year (he was stationed in Germany at the time.) Over the next many months we wrote daily, called weekly, and were falling hard. One night we talked on the phone for 9.5 hours (from Germany), it cost over $1000 for the phone call, but it was worth it, he bought my engagement ring the next day. He came home for Christmas and proposed on Christmas Eve (then took me on a date to see Father of the Bride). I was 16 and everyone told me it was the biggest mistake of my life (except my grandma). We married 2 weeks to the day after I graduated and have been married almost 17 years. We are happier now then ever, he's my very best friend and we have a great family, everyone was wrong, but I forgive them. :rotfl: (Though now that we have a 15 year old... :scared1: )

So, I answered "other" though it was basically through church, and we have been together 19 years and married 16.5.

we met through friends and dated for 8 months or so and broke up. He married someone else and I stayed single. During that time we seen each other a few times but just rally hi how are you thing. Then 7 years after we first met we ran into each other at lowes home improvement and that was when he told me he was divorced and never stopped thinking of me and have been together ever since...it has been 6 years married but been together for 14 years on and off....

I grew up in the Philly area and my mother married a man who was originally from central PA. He had been married and divorced (prior to meeting my mother) and he and his first wife (fantastic lady), had 5 children together.

When I was about 14, we came to this area for a vacation so he could see his children and we could meet them. I met my husband during this time. Almost 2 years later my mother and stepfather decided they wanted to move here, and while we didn't attend the same school, hubby and I started dating. We then married in 1989, which was roughly 8 years after we'd first met.

We met at work. I was 25, he was 20. People thought we would be perfect for each other. I said he was too young. I said that for 8 years until I finally realized he wasn't so young. We started dating, got engaged for years later, married a year after that and have now been married 2 years.

I answered other - my DH and I met thru a personals ad in the newspaper. We have been married 12 1/2 years and known each other for 13 1/2. We dated for 3 months before we got engaged - my Mom told me we were crazy! She was right - we were and still are crazy for each other!
