Where did/will you spend your complimentary room night?

"suite" and "concierge" are two different things. You can be in a standard room that is on the concierge level. A suite is accomodation that's more than one room.

So you are guaranteed a standard (concierge) room, but you are not guaranteed a suite. :thumbsup2

Well, no one else has mentioned the Poly and since it was one of the choices the OP is interested in, I wanted to chime in. DH and I chose the Poly because we think it is the most romatic of the resorts even though we love a king bed :goodvibes

The room we received in Hawaii had to be one of the best views of the castle and the Seven Seas Lagoon ever. :cloud9: The concierge food was fantastic and we loved our room. We stayed right up to checkout time the next day because we wanted to take full advantage. I dream of another stay in that room for a future anniversary...

It is kind of a shame about those brides just adding on to the stay at WL because staying in a "honeymoon" room is really worth the hassle of moving for a day, imo :lovestruc
Thats where we want to stay for our VR ( either the night before or after- would really like both pixiedust: )... we have never stayed there , will have to wait and see.

we chose the poly as well.

i was a bit thrown by the lack of hot tub and king sized beds but quickly got over it when i realized the abundance of incredible food within walking distance and the HUGE standard sized rooms that happily accommodated all of the extra wedding "stuff" that we had...

OMG Love the POLY!!

If I had a custom I would have chosen the BW!!!!!!

We are getting married at the WP, so I think we will use the GF for our Wishes Wedding. But, we stayed at the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge for our Escape Wedding a couple weeks ago and it was WONDERFUL! I know no one has mentioned the DVC resorts, but I loved the space of the Villas for getting ready, and, believe it or not, DH loved having a washer and dryer to do laundry...yes I married a practical man!

Also, if you are having an Escape Wedding...the fridge is nice to store your leftover cake. Can anyone say "breakfast"?

Contemporary...

I love that hotel.. We also booked two additional nights there before we leave on our cruise!

We also stayed at the Poly. They upgraded us to concierge level and we had an amazing view! We were supposed to downgrade to a standard room after our free night but they surprised us and told us to stay where we were for the rest of the trip!!
I liked the Poly a lot but after staying at the Grand the night before the wedding I spent the rest of the time at the Poly wishing we were at the grand

We want to stay at the Contemporary, will we get a tower room? We are also hoping to pay for a second night.

We are staying at the polynesian. My future husband sold me on the idea of watching WISHES *which is when he proposed* on the beach outside of the hotel on our wedding night. I can't wait and I think no matter where you stay as long as you two are together you can't go wrong

ours is a guaranteed "Garden Suite" which is concierge as well. wonder why its different at BW than other resorts. :confused3

That was where our free night was and we did manage to get a tower room, however, other brides have not been as lucky. It depends on the resort and availability... if you want the tower then be prepared to pay the difference.

The same is true at the GF - I know couples that were not upgraded here, so if you want it ask to pay the difference or speak to your Coordinator or Planner about it.

Is that in the DFTW contract, or is that on the reservation confirmation? My DFTW contract stated a standard room, but the confirmation from reservations was the honeymoon suite.

the reservation confirmation. But we booked it WAY in advance...so if the 'based on availability' rule were to apply to suites/concierge..wouldn't they wait until we checked in? Wouldn't they rather have a paying guest stay there? Either way, we booked it right at 12 months out and we have the paper proving "Garden Suite, Concierge"...so it CAN be done! :thumbsup2

We used the "which resort would we never actually pay to stay at" rule of thumb and went for the Grand Floridian. We did it for the last night of the trip so we could end on a high note (too bad a smoker in the next room pretty much ruined ithat for us...) and so wouldn't have to check out/check in anywhere on our wedding day.

This is pretty much the method I ended up following. The Poly is my dream resort and I know we'll eventually stay there someday. The Grand Floridian, on the other hand, is not anywhere I have interest in spending money on. But I'll try it out for free. :rotfl:

DF and I are staying at one of the DVC resorts (hopefully BCV) for the week using my parents points so we'll technically have 2 rooms for the night. We'll have a fairly decent sized gap between our reception and DP so I figured we'd check in and relax at a resort for a few hours and the next morning our plan is to schedule spa treatments so it just makes more sense to stay at the GF in the end.
