:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

We spent a week (4th of July) at Bethpage RV resort in Urbanna VA. Most days it was 100 + degrees, up to 107.

Our lawn at home has the color of Royal ST Andrews in Scotland. I think the brown rough is called Gorse. Our lawn looks like a short gorse hayfield with 2 trees saying adios. The trees were doing well since planted 3 years ago.

Watering in our township is out of the question, unless you want to take out a mortgage for water.

We live in S Central PA-----How are you fairing in your neck of the woods.

Our lawn had also turned a "nice" shade of brown. But, had some nice rain last week and it "greened" right up.

we keep getting rain every couple days. we don't have shade on our land so, it really doesn't look too bad, yet. hot, humid and then thunderstorms...

My grass is crunchy and brown, but there are still some tall weedy things that seem to love the drought. I mowed yesterday just to cut them off and get a more even brown carpet appearance to my lawn.

I'm in the same situation as Denise. Of course I live just west of them, so we've had similar weather. It's gotten green and started growing again over the past week or two. Sure was brown though before that.

Turn a negative into a positive.

If the ground gets any browner and harder, I will get my putter out and improve my putting stroke.

Will it improve my score ???? The only way I can improve is CHEAT ! ! ! !

I planted bermuda and we have irrigation. We have a "HUGE" well. Green as can be and the hotter, the better for bermuda. :thumbsup2

Same here. We don't have a well, but enough rain here that there are no watering restrictions yet, Prettiest yard on the block :-):goodvibes

Well, now I had always just said my grass looks "dead". I like the way you put it though. It sounds alot classier. :goodvibes

Even the weeds are brown and crispy here.

When the dogs race out through the yard a lovely brown "cloud" goes drifting by. :dogdance:

I wish our grass would turn brown and stop growing.I hate the time it takes DH to mow, weed eat, blow the grass, etc. I HATE it! We are not yard people, we gave up and didn't plant the first flower this year. Ugliest yard on the road! Oh, and of course my neighbors across the street, perfect yard. The wife is a landscaper......makes my yard look even worse.

Pour concrete, paint it green , problem solved.

Not being a bug Ornithologist (is that bugs or snakes ???), but you get the idea.

My bugs will break their molars if they try to chew my gorse.

My DW saw a green blade of grass this AM. 'John, why don't you mulch cut, it may spread'.

Yes dear, yes dear. yes dear ! ! ! I am totally programmed.

We have so many trees on our property and we have clay soil so we have the opposite problem. Nothing ever dries out. I guess that you just can't win... :(

Heh, heh!!! John said "gorse"!! Heh, heh!

I could make a "killing" in Florida. :lmao:

I would be your first customer! I'll even make it easy on you as I have an in-house pest control tube system. But first....you'll have to prove your worthiness by killing the chinch bugs!!

We have had some showers over the last 2 weeks. Now the grass is starting to green up again and needs cutting.........That sucks it's killing one of my fishing days.

We are going crabbing on Thursday at Kent Island MD and then it's over to Avalon NJ for flounder on Friday and crabbing again on Saturday at Wye Mills MD on Sunday I need to clean up the boat again. Last Thursday I fished in Avalon NJ and had the best flounder day ever. The last 2 Mondays We fished Indian River inlet for flounder, caught a few flounder but all were throw-backs but we did catch enough Blues for a good fish fry.
