Where could I buy wire hangers for cheap?

I need to buy 300 hangers for a big consignment sale. Does Walmart sell them? I thought I would ask here before I call all of the cleaners in our area.

If you have time I would post on Craigslist under 'items wanted' - I would think there would be a lot of people who would be happy to get rid of them (and would probably give them to you for free).

Can you ask for things on Freecycle? I'm not sure but if you can I'd try there too

I was going to suggest just posting on FB, especially if you have friends who get a lot of things dry cleaned. Every time we have one of those sales here, I see several posts asking for hangers, and it seems like they always get what they need.

I hate the idea of buying something in order to sell something. Good luck finding what you need!

I went to a dry cleaner and asked nicely. She handed me about 50. I would definitely ask around before you buy them.

Good luck on the sale!

Old Navy has plastic hangers that most stores will give away for free!

If these other ideas don't work out for you, you can buy 250 of them from 3hangersupply.com for about $22 shipped. I am sure there are other places online if you google "bulk wire hangers".

They are a pain to find! The sale I do requires metal. I had been hoarding the hangers that the kid clothes came on since the first was born, only to find out I couldn't use them. Last time, I was out of my entire stash. I tried a dry cleaner, but they wouldn't give them OR sell them to me. A customer actually handed me some he was returning. My grandmothers each had some, so that got me through. I'm hoping I have enough to get me through the next one.

My Walmart didn't stock them.

I got my from a dry cleaner, first two I tried had nothing, but the third happily unloaded his whole collection of recycled hangers,

Ask the people you know who wear dress shirts to work. We always have them, the dry cleaner doesn't take them back. And DH wears a dress shirt every day. It adds up to a lot of hangers...

Our walmart has a 10 pack for 1.24. don't wait till the last minute to buy them as they become very popular during consignment season

You could check with your local Dry Cleaners....maybe they either sell. U some or tell u where to buy them yourself.

You could also check at thrift stores. One here sells bundles of wire hangers for 50 cents.

If you have time before you need them, watch for another consignment sale in your area. Go there and they will most likely have empty hangers at that cash that they have removed clothes from. We stack ours up and they are free to take. At the end of the sale any not taken are turned in for scrap metal. There are usually pounds of them.

If you are anywhere near Philly, I have a bunch you can have.
