Does anyone happen to know the guidelines for where you are able to go in Disney World in full wedding attire? I'm just really curious what the rules are.

You should be able to go anywhere except inside the four major theme parks. (and I would assume the water parks as well).

The only exception would be if you are hosting a wedding event at one of the parks through DFTW. This would be a reception or a dessert party... (some intimate brides have been told they could not were their dress to the DP)

So they won't let you wander the parks in your dress? Any reason why not that you happen to know of?

I have heard one reason is that many girls would think you were a princess and they (being Disney) could not protect you from the mobs.

It is just something that is not allowed, wish we could but...

you cant wear your wedding attire into the wdw themeparks unless your private event is planned there through dftw. also some resort restaurants too, you should always call ahead to verify if its okay to wear your wedding gown, as at some restaurants a dftw bride might have booked a private event & will take precedence on whether you can come in your bridal attire or not like at california grill, ive heard of this happening here on the board.

as for the reasoning, i think disney doesnt want brides running into eachother, they like each to feel special. ntm the confusion with the princesses like others have mentioned.

Sorry, just to clairify: any wedding event you're doing through DFTW you can wear your dress to? So a reception, dessert party, ect. held in the parks is okay? Are you allowed to walk through the park to get to these events? Or do you have to change out of your dress and then change again when you get there?

What about in between these events? I'm thinking a morning ceremony, a lunch or afternoon tea reception, and then a fireworks dessert party. I'm guessing I'll have to change out of my dress between the reception and the dessert party...

*sigh* This is complicated.

Yes, any DFTW event you can wear your dress into the parks. You won't have to change out of your dress between the reception and desert party. You won't be walking through the park per say, they will bring you in a private "backstage entrance" and bring you with escorts to your site.

It's not complicated...yet!
