Where can we watch the news/weather channel?

My fiance and I are planning a trip for September. We will be camping either in a tent or a pop-up. DF thinks we need a preferred site just so he can watch the weather channel for 5 minutes every day (he's obsessed with that channel). I would rather not pay the extra money for a preferred site and I really don't think we need to pack a tv just for that. Besides listening to the radio is there somewhere at FW we can go to watch the news or the weather channel to see the forecast? He's usually not satisfied with the radio weather forecast because it doesn't tell the whole week.

Does Crocketts Lounge have a TV?? If they do, you could probably stop in there each evening and get the weather channel for a few minutes. Although most lounge TVs I've seen at WDW are on some Sports Channel most of the time.

Seems to me he needs a weather radio. We always take ours when we camp in the popup. Ours has SAME technology so it can be programed to give weather alerts for specific counties so you know if bad weather is coming in your local area were ever you may be. I have even seen pocket versions. These radios run a continuously updated loop so you can hear the forecast any time you want.
here is a link to what I am talking about

I think you can go to the front office and find out what the weather is going to be for that day. Not sure if a preferred site will work I think they are meant for popups and RVs.

I can't think of anyplace that would have the weather channel. The preferred sites are very nice and have a better location in general as well as the cable access. You may want to consider it. They also have a local disney channel that has park hours and park updates etc. We enjoy watching that channel.

Something else I just thought of. There is a number on the house phones at each of the comfort stations that you can dial, that gives WDW weather updates. I know it gives that days temperatures and chance of rain, and I think it also gives forecast for the next day or so.

clkelly-I was just going to suggest the same thing-that's what we did-the house phone DOES give weather for daytime highs and lows and next days rain/temp forcasts.

Or, the easier method is to just pick up a Weather Rock

According to thier web site:

This rock is the perfect weather indicator, it never fails. It is more accurate than your local weather person. This rock is the living word and is 100% correct.

Check it out:sunny:

They want the forecast for the week. But this would be great for the question I get every morning from my son---"what's the weather like today".....he could just check out "the rock". :jumping1:

Thanks for the suggestions. I might have to check out that weather rock. :D

A couple of things have changed in our plans and we are having a tough time deciding whether to fly and stay at a resort or drive and camp. Both have their pros and cons and I just can't decide which sounds better.

i have the same problem. We LOVE to get specific weather info and find that the info you get from the house phones at the comfort stations to be way too vauge. (Duh - in florida i expect a chance of afternoon thunderstorms, but i would like a local forcast from a meterologist with a bit more detail!)

We tried getting in a local radio station that would give us weather at specific intervals in the AM, but didn't have any luck finding one. (even after asking several CMs. since they live around there we thought they might know the local radio news station.) I guess i am spoiled by KYW news radio at 1060AM here in the philly area. Trafic and weather every 10 min.

We did go to the front office on our way out of the campground each morning, but we had to wait in line for our turn with a CM and then they only had the limited weather info that was available on the house phones.

We are definately looking into one of those weather radios that Memph1s mentioned. The impending weather plays a major role in what park we plan to hit that day.

We always get a USA Today and that does the trick for us!! Otherwise, we just look at the sky.
