We are in Disney for 12 days -- with the 10 day park hopper. We won't visit the parks on our arrival or departure day.

We would like to have dinner somewhere on our arrival evening though. What resturants can we choose from without entering a park?

Thanks -- I love this site....very informative!!! :flower3:

You can also try the Rainforest Cafe at the Animal Kingdom without entering the park, since they have a seperate entrance by the gates which does not require park admission.

You also have the Downtown Disney restaurants available without park entrance. For arrival day I would suggest 'Ohana at the Polynesian resort, because of the awesome "we are on vacation" atmosphere, or Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary for obvious reasons. DTD is fun also, though, if you won't be too tired from the trip.

Any of the resort restaurants would be good. Your dining plan starts at check-in and goes until midnight the day you check-out.

U can Try Kona, 1900 Park Fare,Chef Micky's,Ohana's, Any downtown disney restaurant,Boma,Spoodles, the choices are endless, just head to any hotel or DTD. Kimmie

Yes, you can use the dining plan on check in night.

There are lots of locations to choose from without entering a park.
Just depends on the type of food and amount of food you want that night.

If you have some specific type of food in mind ... post it and you will get more specific suggestions!

Have a great trip!

Yes, definitely try dining at a Rainforest Cafe. We ate at the one located in Downtown Disney during our most recent visit, and were more than pleased with the food, service, and extraordinary theming. A must see.

Here's my take; your best bet may well be your home resort, if you are staying on WDW property. If you are off property, then anything out of a park is fair game.

It depends on when you plan to arrive, how you plan to arrive, and maybe where you are staying.

If you are arriving by air: Allow plenty of time to get to your resort. Also make an allowance for flight delays. They are very common these days.

I tend to do a QS meal on arrival day, just in case. It also gives you a chance to check ot your home resort. But if you have a morning arrvial, you should be fine for a dinner ADR. You might not be able to check in before 3 or 4pm though.

If you have a car, it is also your best opportunity to dine offsite. There are TONS of choices.

Going to DTD is a popular choice for arrival day. Otherwise, the BWK/BC/YC/Swan/Dolphin area is popular, and has lots of choices.

Also, if you choose something on the MK monorail area you could take the monorail before or after dinner - or you ride a shuttle boat.

Last trip we stayed at WL, eating at CR wasa short boat ride. We arrived via car early in the day. We had plenty of time befor edinner to use the pool and take the boat over to CR. It was relaxing and fun.

I agree that you best bet may be your home resort.

We always find air travel exhausting - you wouldn't think it would be. We also find it ALWAYS takes longer between the landing time on our ticket and the time we are checked in than we HOPE it will take. So planning on a meal at our hotel, where its EASY to get to dinner - is a priority for us. I know a lot of DISers always run over the Chef Mickey's or always go to Ohana, I want to get into my room, use the pool, have dinner, use the pool again, and go to sleep.
