...about something that happened inside the Magic Kingdom.?

On Feb 19th, DH and I were in the Magic Kingdom with our 5 kids. While getting into her seat on the Carousel of Progress, one of my 3 yr old twins tripped and fell forhead first into the arm rest of her seat. I knew as soon as she looked up, that she was going to need stitches. I grabbed her and told my husband and kids that we needed to leave. I flagged down the CM outside the ride and everyone sprung into action. I had a washcloth, a handful of CM's, some sort of manager and paramedics there within minutes. The paramedic took one look at the deep cut and said that my DD would need stitches and asked if I was ready. I was off to the hospital in an ambulance with my DD. The CM's escorted my husband and 4 other kids through the back lot directly to the boat to our resort. When they got back to the room there was a stuffed Minnie, a music box full of chocolate, and a chocolate Donald Duck. The paramedic was great...as was the staff at Celebration hospital (which was VERY busy). When my DD was done getting her stitches (5 total - 1 internal and 4 external), the hospital connected me with Wilderness Lodge. They told me to call a taxi and they would pay for it when I arrived at the resort.

We boarded the Disney Dream the next morning....for back-to-back 4 day/3 day cruises. On day 6, the doctor took out my DD'd stitches (for free, no less). He was also very good to us.

The entire incident was an unfortunate accident. Disney was not at fault but they really did jump in and take care of us. Given everything I had to deal with at the time, I did not take down any names, but I would still like to write a letter...I'm sure they can figure out who the cast members were.

Thanks...
Jess

What a terrible thing to have happen! I'm glad it had a good resolution, however. Sounded like they took great care of you. I'm confident you can search for a "compliment CM" address here somewhere, or post this on the Theme Parks board. Someone there is sure to know the address.

I have sent snail mail letters to this address:

Walt Disney World Guest Communications
P.O. Box 10000
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-1000

And have had CMs from the Guest Services department contact me.

I'm so sorry about your DD's mishap, and glad everything went as smoothly as it did.

How nice of you. I think people are so quick to write about their negative experiences and tend not to write about extremely positive ones. I am so glad everything ended so well and you all had a great time!

Click HERE for the link to send Disney an email (phone numbers are also listed here). Under the Subject Category, there is a subject (My Recent Walt Disney World Visit Questions & Comments) to ask questions and send comments. Every time I've sent them an email, I've gotten a reply back.

So sorry to hear about the unfortunate accident, but I'm glad to see everything turned out ok. Thanks for sharing something positive. :goodvibes Not too often that happens on here. :rotfl:

Thanks everyone....I will follow through with this tomorrow (late and tired now).

Poor baby! It's so scary when our kids get hurt especially miles away from home. To have such quick support and wonderful people around you is truly priceless. Even thinking of transportation at a time like that is almost impossible, so happy to hear they help with both ways also. Hope she's forgotten about it ;)

About 5 years ago, when my DS was 8, he fell on the stairs going up to the coconut something slide at Typhoon Lagoon. They are concrete. He split his shin and was bleeding. As I turned to look for a CM, I swear they came out of nowhere and I had two of them attending to DS. We all determined he just needed first aid, no stitches thankfully. They stayed with us until he was ready to get up and do the slide. They were wonderful.

Congrats to Disney on a job well done! And congrats to you on not exploiting the situation for gain as I suspect some would.

I suspect at least some of the 'above and beyond' treatment by Disney is an attempt to avoid a lawsuit. I would expect any organization to jump into action to get the immediate needs met, paramedic, ambulance, etc. But a personal escort back to your rooms, comfort gifts waiting and even covering the medical costs is certainly above and beyond!

Again, kudos to Disney! :thumbsup2
