We leave next Wednesday for our trip and we are staying offsite. Where is the cheapest place for me to purchase our MYW passes for 4 adults and 2 children for 6 days with no hopper? I am a AAA member too so I don't know if they have discounts. Thanks for your help.

Undercover tourist has seemed to be the cheapest place to get tickets, but it only saves a few dollars a ticket. We are AAA members too, and they only ever wanted to sell us packages (no tickets only or room only).

If you leave next Wednesday you have kind of run yourself too close to departure to buy from any mail order sources like Undercover Tourist or AAA. If you have a local AAA office close by you can save about $5 per ticket buying Disney tickets.

The most convenient thing is going to be for you just to buy the ticket FROM DISNEY once you get there.

Even Undercover Tourist only saves you $2 or $3 on tickets. Nothing major unless you are buying a 10 day hopper or something like that then the savings are around $15. On the Undercover Tourist site it actually tells you how many dollars each ticket saves you and it is not much at all. On our 3 day tickets it would have only saved us $1 per ticket. Not worth it at all buying from them for that savings.

Orbitz has buy a 4 day Parkhopper get the 5th day free, so that might be your best bet. The longest Hopper they sell is 5 days. Plus if you shop through Ebates, you can get cash back.

Agreed. You won't have time to have them shipped unless you go with an expensive overnight method which will eat up your savings.

Do you have a Target REDCard? You can at least save 5% on the cost of your tickets by going to Target and buying enough Disney GCs to cover the cost of your tickets. Use your REDCard to pay for the GCs and you will save 5% off of the face value of the GCs. That's not a bad discount and probably better than what you would have gotten at UT for 6-day MYW base tickets.

Another option, if you don't have a REDCard, would be to purchase from one of the authorized ticket sellers that has a storefront in Orlando. Here are a few:

  • Billy Boys/Ticketmania (located across from Medieval Times on Highway 192 in Kissimmee)
  • Mapleleaf Tickets (also on Highway 192 in Kissimmee between markers 13 &14)
  • Discount Orlando Vacation (on Vine St. in Kissimmee)
They all have websites that you can order the tickets on and select pick up as your shipping option.

We use AA Ohio and their prices are better than Undercover Tourist.

While I like the idea to buy from Orbitz because of their Buy 3-days-get-5-day deal, but that's only on a Hopper ticket, so you'll be paying $341.87 (Adult) and
$322.70 (Child) and then have to add one day to your ticket once you're at WDW (just under $40 per person).

A regular 6-day base ticket without hopper is $318.41 (Adult) and $298.22 (Child), so you'd be overpaying if buying the Orbitz deal, even if you count in the 10% rebate via Ebates.

Your best bet is to check your local AAA office, and if they sell discounted physical tickets, buy your tickets from them. For 6 tickets, you'll probably save around $30, so you need to figure out how long it'll take for the $30 savings. Otherwise, I'd just buy the tickets straight from Disney.

Just my 2 cents.

If you buy tickets from AAA, do you get a AAA diamond parking pass? Or do you have to buy a pkg to get the parking pass? Thx!

It depends on the AAA office. Some will only give the pass to members who have booked a trip through AAA. Others will give the pass to any member who stops in and asks. And then some will give you a parking pass if you just buy tickets from them.

But just so you know, the pass doesn't provide free parking. It just allows you to park in the diamond lot, which is closer to the park gates than the other areas of the parking lots. And if the diamond lot is full, you will park wherever everyone else is being directed to park.

If you happen to be a current or retired IBMer there is a site that gives you 12% off. I'm not sure if they ship or if it is pickup.

Thank you everyone! I have a AAA 5 minutes from my house so maybe I will go there tomorrow and just purchase them there. I do have a red card too but maybe AAA will be my best bet. I will look into the authorized dealers also because we are driving so I do have a car.

It's good to note that while some AAA will give you a discount and parking pass, some AAA offices do not offer any discount at all. I would ask a couple of the retailers if they charge sales tax if you order the tickets and pick them up in person. One of the biggest savings is that if you buy from Disney they charge sales tax because they have a presence in every state. Resellers sell across state lines and dont charge sales tax.

That's not true. They all charge Florida sales tax on the tickets. The only exception would be military tickets purchased at Shades if Green.
