Where can I get some pins---Son lost collection in home fire

If there is a special pin that he really likes, I would be more than happy to pick it up for him on our next trip March 19-21 and send it to you (my treat - I think about how hard that would be to go through for your family and I just want to cry). Please, please feel free to PM me with a special pin request and a current mailing address to send it to and it will be on its way to him on the 22nd!

Thank you VERY MUCH!!! I honestly do not know 'what' pins he really liked----I just know I spent about $100 per trip on the things!!! LOL.

Let me talk to him, and I'll email you later......I'd much rather just pay you back for the purchased pins, as just your offer to get them while down there is nice enough.

What are "scrappers"? We have been buying pins from the same seller the last couple of times. I typically don't buy the expensive ones since we like the swapping part.

It is a great way to teach kids how to talk to adults while asking for something in particular. I have one child who is pretty shy and pin trading gets her out of her shell

Thanks again.....things are kinda getting back to normal, but the kids are just now starting to realize 'what' they lost. I feel bad for my 9-year old (the pin trader)---he lost all his wrestling trophies and championship brackets/shirts. He had something like 70 of them, and they are ALL gone. This is something insurance cannot replace.

Thanks again for your offer---its kindless like this that makes this situation a little easier.

Sorry I can't help answer your question as we don't trade and my boys are too young, but I'm so touched by the generosity of those on this thread

Scrappers are fake pins made in China that people sell on ebay in cheap lots that look almost like the real pin, but something usually is different about it.

Please feel free to check out the pin threads on the collectors board. There's lots of great info there on which ebay sellers are selling fakes, and which ones are selling the real deal.

First let me say I am so sorry about the fire and loss. I also lost everything in a house fire 2 days after Christmas 1990. My children were 6 and 3. Fortunately we got out safely.
So many people came to our aid and made sure me and the children were taken care of for some time afterwards. It changed our lives forever....in such a positive way. Yes we still, almost 20 years later, remember something every now and then that was lost, but our family focus has become on experiences with each other (Disney trips .

OP I know how you feel, we had a total loss house fire a few years ago, sometimes it's the little things that really make it hard. I hope your DS gets his pins back, did he collect anyone in particular? if so let us know and we will see what we can send him from our collections.

It is sad about the fire, and I know a few families this has happend to, and I understand how your forget what you had until you look for it and it is gone.

Pins and personalized pirate lanyards are on the way! It's not much, but it takes a little of the sting out.

How awesome that you guys are all so willing to give...truly a blessing. I wish we had some we could give, but we are leaving in 4 days for our very first family trip to Disney world... I am thinking we are gonna try and grab some pins while we are there to start our collection with. Anyway...i honestly wasn't trying to hijack the thread..only tell all of you that you are awesome for helping others the way you are.
