Where can I find Lightening McQueen and Mater?

All DLR experts,

My son is madly in love with Lightening McQueen, King, Doc, Mater, Sally, and all the Cars characters.

Does anyone know where and when the best chances of spotting them would be?

DCA across from Soarin'. There is a little alcove where both Lightning Mcqueen and Mater are parked for most of the day.

They usually hang out in Condor Flats at California Adventure, across from Taste Pilots Grill

It is only a photo shoot and the cars do not talk to the guests. There is a photopass person there or you can take your own pictures. It is usually like opening to about 5 pm but depends on the day you go. It is on the schedule you can get when you enter the gate.

And they go away for awhile when the Pixar Play Parade is going on...

I am so happy that they'll be there for specific times and that I won't have to hope that we spot them somewhere.

Does anyone by chance know if there are long lines to take a picture with them?

Last time I was there is was a 10 to 15 minute. It is not like a regular meet and greet where the character has to acknowledge the new guests, talk with the guests, do the photography, then send them on their way. Just walk up, pose, smile, click and leaves, very fast. This has a line to the left and is well organized and a handler/CM is there to answer any questions. Photopass is there also and they will use your camera to take your picture for free.

When I took the pic in 07 (Yeah I know, the time stamp says 06) they let two kids at a time go up to the cars and they were given rags to buff the finish on the cars with while the pics were being taken.

This recent trip, there was almost no line and no rags, it was just posing with the cars.

Yeah if its busy in the park then I would say a 15 minute wait. But if you catch them earlier in the day I have seen a less then 5 minute waits on many occasion.

there was NO line when we went in March... it was great!!! we were not rushed like we were at WDW.

my son is the same way about the cars characters....the viewing and the parade are the two areas. Remember that the parade will have Mater and Lightning opening/closing the parade (on a good day...once we saw the parade and only had Lightning), so you'll need to be sure to catch the entire parade.

The lines for viewing aren't that long...no worries!
