Ok, so its finally getting colder out, and I need new jeans for winter. I used to love going out to buy new jeans, but now I can't find any! Unfortunately, I'm not a size 0, so all the ultra low rise jeans don't work with me...I went to the Gap, department stores....grrr. I just can't find any! Anyone else have this problem?

On a side note...I heard someone on the radio yesterday talking about the ultra low rise jeans, and people who shouldn't be wearing them....they called it muffin tops, for the back view of them. :rotfl2:

Old Navy makes an "at waist" and "just below waist" cuts in their jeans. I prefer the "just below waist bootcuts" in a long but they are very difficult to find at the store near me. I usually end up ordering them online.

I love Old Navy jeans, weekend fit. I need new ones too because I have literally worn mine out....I hate shopping for jeans though....not comfortable at all in the low rise....the weekend fit sits right at or just below the waist...I love them!

Land's End has several different waist heights of their jeans, and will hem them for free. Their prices are very reasonable - starting at $29.50. I know it's hard to order clothes online. They sell the Land's End brand at Sears. So you could try them on and if you need them hemmed order your size online.

Ralph Lauren has some great "mid rise" jeans that are flattering on most figures. Look at Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor and Nordstroms.

I'd try Kohl's or JCPenney.
I've had the best luck there finding boot cut

Old Navy jeans are my favorite, but so are New York & Co (Lerner). I hate those low waisted jeans. Don't look good with the innertube around my waist :rotfl2:

K Mart's Route 66 brand had some that work well for me, but I needed petite or short thrown in with needing medium rise.

Lia Claiborn outlets have tons of jeans that have waistbands and are either straight leg or boot cut.

I too have found great jeans at Penney's. Boot cut, not too low, just a hint of stretch... and they make me look thinner too! :teeth:

I have the same problem. My two favorite jeans are Ralph Lauren and Levi's Nouvaeu Fit (mid-rise, bootcut, stretch). I wear a size 12 and have a "pooch" and these look the best on me.

I like Bill Blass and Guess?.

I wouldn't be caught dead in low rise jeans! :earseek: The would not work for me! (not that I am that big, but I'm not that small any more!)

We look for ours at Pennys and, of all places, Academy. Academy seems to have more of the *practical* jeans -- can you see riding horses in low-rise jeans? :rotfl:

I'm with Tony. LL Bean has the best jeans that are very reasonably priced for the quality.

Get the LLBean credit card and shipping is free.

These are the only jeans that work for me.

I have to agree with MScott - Old Navy just below waist jeans are very comfortable! :) Especially when you get them with STRETCH!

Here's a 3rd vote for Ralph Lauren. They are wonderful I've been fortunate enough to catch them on sale. I have on my chocolate pair today. I love them.

I love Old Navy Jeans!!! They have so many different styles there is a pair for everyone, I am very picky when it comes to jeans, I dispise the low rise jeans!!!!
