We are coming back to DL for the first time in years. It's my wife's birthday and on previous visits we have always had a slice of chocolate cake from the Golden Horseshoe. Looking at menus I find online they no longer have chocolate cake? Looking for help to find chocolate cake in the park. Thank You.

Steakhouse 55! Not exactly inside the park, but it certainly is worth a visit to the DLH for this impressive cake. (Google for a photo of the famous S55 chocolate cake!) Plaza Inn usually has slices of chocolate cake at the dessert counter. Sprinkle Cupcakes in DTD has several kinds of chocolate cupcakes that you can get to go to bring inside the parks. (Not cake, but Galactic Grill has Darth by Chocolate, if your wife is a Star Wars fan.)

Oh my goodness - that S55 cake looks amazing! I’m from Georgia, and when I was in high school, the mom of one of my friends was one of those down-home southern cooks, and everything she made tasted incredible. She made a similar cake, but with yellow cake instead of chocolate. I still dream about that cake! I have never seen one like it until now...I may have to figure out a way to go try it.

^ This! The 24 layer cake at Steakhouse 55 is amazing. We find one piece is big enough to share :) We also recently had an 8 layer chocolate hazelnut cake as part of the Blue Bayou Fantasmic dining package that was very good as well.

Is it wrong to do steakhouse for just dessert?? Lol my husband would love this!
Not sure how they deal with that. We were there Sunday night without reservations. There were no times we could be seated, but we were totally fine with eating in the lounge. We did learn that if you are in the lounge, you can order off the restaurant menu if you are sitting at the bar only. The bar was full the whole time we were there (a couple hours). We ended up eating just about everything on the lounge menu since we were sitting at the lower tables. No chocolate cake on that menu.

If you are wanting to try the cake, just make a reservation and see how they handle it.

The Golden Horseshoe still has the cake. There are signs on the counter advertising it. It does not appear on the online menu.

That cake is not what it once was. It used to be this huge piece of cake that could easily feed 2 or 3 people. The last time I saw the cake at Golden Horseshoe it looked like the same chocolate cake they serve at other restaurants such as Plaza Inn. True thought, you can still get chocolate cake at Golden Horseshoe and I have seen it at Plaza Inn on occasion.

Agree....the chocolate cake they have in the park now is NOT what they used to have at the Golden Horseshoe!! The 24 layer chocolate cake at Steakhouse 55 is your best bet!

The chocolate cake was $15.

The creme brulee was delicious. There was chocolate and maple, and some yummy crunchy treats in the middle. It was $12.
