We're checking into PBH on Thanksgiving Day. The room was booked with the APH rate. I was told that I would have to have the actual pass, not the voucher to keep the rate at check in. What would be the most convenient place to activate my pass? TIA-Dana

To go along with that question, If when going to the park to activate the annual pass and APH get free parking, how do we get into the park to activate the pass without paying? Will they reimburse us if we go back with the annual pass?

Thanks
Sabrina

Technically you don't get free parking until after you have a valid AP. There have been instances when people haven't had to pay but the official policy is that you don't get free parking until you have an active AP.

Tell me what your AP voucher looks like and I can tell you where you can activate it.

Most time people don't have a voucher but a ticket that gets them into the park to get their picture taken for the AP. You enter the park and go to Vacation Services inside either park.

If it is indeed a true voucher, then you need to go to Guest Services Window before you enter the park. Guest Services windows are just outside both parks. They will give you a pass that gets you into the park. Once you are in the park, you just go to Vacation Services and get your picture taken and your card made.

If you let me know what your "voucher" looks like, I can tell you whether you should go to Guest Services or Vacation Services.

My AP is definitely a ticket, not a voucher. On the back it says "2 park power pass. Must obtain photo id. Not valid after 1st day admission" Am I really going to have to enter the park and get my "real" AP to check into PBH with the AP rate, or will just this ticket be enough? Thanks for your helpl-Dana

Yes, you have the ticket not a voucher. You will enter either park with that ticket and go to Vacation Services inside the park to get your picture taken.

I am not sure what the policy is at PBH on whether they will accept it or not. They may just let you check in with that and tell you to bring the AP to them later that day. If they won't then, just park your car at PBH and take the boat over to IOA and get your AP. Then come back and check in.

Edited to add: I just read that you are getting a Power Pass. I thought only the Preferred Annual Pass gave you a discount at the onsite hotels.

Great! I just checked, and you are right. I didn't get the pass that will get a discount on the room. Now I guess I better call and see what the price difference will be!

It will be around $60 more to upgrade to the preferred annual pass.
