Where breakfast? Where lunch? Staying at WL and visiting MK

We wake up after our first night at the Wilderness Lodge toward the end of a split-stay trip and will head to the Magic Kingdom in the morning, coming back in the afternoon for pool time, before heading to Epcot for dinner at Spice Road Table during Illuminations.

Where should we have breakfast? Where should we have lunch? We have the deluxe dining plan, so anything goes. Right now we have lunch reservations at Whispering Canyon, we could get QS breakfast at Roaring Fork, or make reservations at Wave or Chef Mickey's, or even 1900 Park Fare. I'm avoiding the Polynesian because we will have just had dinner at 'Ohana the night before.

Alternatively, we could have breakfast at Whispering Canyon and then lunch in the park somewhere other than BoG and Skipper Canteen, where we will have already eaten, or lunch somewhere at the Contemporary.

I definitely want to have a meal at Whispering Canyon, but it doesn't really matter which meal it is. We also don't want to take up too much time at restaurants instead of in Tomorrowland.

Is our current Roaring Fork breakfast/Whispering Canyon lunch plan the best solution?

If you aren't opposed to using one of your credits on QS, I think I would have breakfast at Whispering Canyon and QS either in MK depending on how long you are staying in MK (we like Columbia Harbour House) or at Roaring Forks (you could get some lunch and take it out to the pool!). Personally, I couldn't eat a big TS lunch followed by a big Spice Road Dinner. I also wouldn't want to waste too much time in the afternoon if your goal is to ride rides and swim in the pool.

If you're concerned about timing then yes Roaring Forks is your best morning option. Alternatively I'd suggest The Wave, which has one of the best buffets on property. If you're set on Whispering Canyon definitely do lunch. It is unquestionably the better of the two meals.

Disney meals being as large as they tend to be, I find that two meals a day there are plenty! If you really want to do three meals in one day, I agree that Roaring Fork breakfast and Whispering Canyon lunch would be a good choice. If you were to do a buffet breakfast somewhere, plus Whispering Canyon lunch, and then dinner later, I think that is way too much food for most people...

Depends on if you are the type that wants some afternoon downtime. If so, I might take the boat to CR and experience breakfast pre park opening at the Wave, walk to the park from CR then have lunch back at your hotel. Heard really good reviews on Wave b-fast. With a late night ressie at Spice Road, a late lunch after riding the boat back to your hotel might be a good fit.

We usually grab a very quick bite at the resort (or sometimes in the park) for breakfast because we like to be at the park for rope drop and it is difficult for us to get an early morning reservation and get to the park on time. Personally I'd just head to the park in time for rope drop, hit the rides at rope drop and then grab a snack in MK or pick up a sandwich from the Starbucks.

Used the roaring forks a few times as we normally stay at the Lodge - not a great breakfast in my opinion - basic quick service. As you are on the deluxe dining plan, I would suggest going over to GF and trying Grand Floridian cafe for table service or 1900 Park Fare for the buffet then you have a quick monorail to the park. Whispering Canyon breakfast is OK - served AYCTE style (although there are normal a la carte options too)
